ON HIATUS TIL I HAVE MORE MOD DEVELOPMENT KNOWLEDGE
Introduction
"Strange ruins have been found scattered throughout the Overworld, with ancient artefacts and untold knowledge hidden within them. These have sent humanity into a frenzy to understand and decipher their nature, even if the answers they seek could lead to a ruin of their own..."
Description
This is the first in a series of mods I plan on making that'll revolve around the ancient civilization of the Fragmen and their home, the Rings of Aeon
Ruinous Call has you explore the Overworld in search of Fragmen ruins, which will be the main means of acquiring unique Fragmen items and decorations. They will also provide glimpses into the culture of the Fragmen and their beliefs, enticing you to speculate and understand who they truly were.
You'll need to have brushes before searching for them, as most of the weapons and decorations are/will be found by brushing suspicious sand and gravel in the ruins
Please note that the content shown may change, as this mod is still relatively new.
Optional compatibilities with some mods (Jei, Better Combat, etc) are still being decided or are planned in the future
Items
Weapons
Weapons
"It is believed that, in a last stand to avoid extinction, the Fragmen had developed weapons to fight against an unknown enemy that sought their end. These weapons are now passed down to you, should you ensure they aren't forgotten"
A Key aspect of Ruinous Call is the weapons you will acquire from excavating and researching the Fragmen Ruins, designed to change how you fight enemies.
The parts you need to craft them can be found rarely by brushing suspicious sand in Fragmen Ruins or by locating unique historical sites
Most weapons will have their ability triggered via right-click unless stated otherwise
Blood Rush
"An artefact of religious symbolism, the redstone in its blade allows the user to increase its sharpness at the cost of their life force"
Ability: A dagger that converts its user's health into a damage boost, bringing the player's health to two hearts.
You may get half of the health sacrificed back by right-clicking it again while in your main hand, or get all health sacrificed back by hitting an enemy
Devil's Fortune
"A gauntlet of unknown purpose, the user may activate its mechanism to gain temporary enhancements... Negative, or positive"
Ability: Wearing the weapon on your arm, you can use the gauntlet's ability to gain buffs or debuffs, with a 10% chance of getting a positive or negative jackpot.
Fragmen Polearm
"Believed to have been used by the Fragmens' infantry, this weapon's unorthodox design grants the fighter accumulative speed and damage. Higher speeds may cause the weapon to break, so the bound chains can be used to stunt speed"
Ability: Damage increases as you combo attacks, with the player gaining haste and speed effects from bigger combos.
If you reach Swiftness 3 or go too fast, the weapon will start to take damage over time. You may remove your buffs by right-clicking the weapon, though this does reset the damage buff gained from comboing attacks to zero.
Note: This weapon is also meant to damage the player, but due to an issue with the damage detection as well as balancing risk, this penalty is scrapped
Pottery sherds
Sherds
"The Fragmen documented their history and symbolisms through a series of unique pottery sherds, displaying creatures and places both known and unknown"
Ruinous Call adds a new selection of pottery sherds for you to craft pots with, these can be acquired by brushing suspicious blocks within Fragmen ruins.
Fragman Sherd
"This sherd displays what is believed to be the depiction of a Fragman's head, though whether the parts in the top corners are ears or parts of the head itself is unknown due to no physical instances of Fragmen being found"
Cloud Owl Sherd
"The bird shown was a species of owl that existed during the time of the Fragmen. The name was dubbed due to several sightings being reported of them having white feathers and using the clouds to hide their movements"
Unknown Cat Shard
"Due to no samples of the species' fur existing, and no bones being found beyond its head, most information on this species is unknown. What is known is that it possessed 2 pairs of eyes, as shown in this pottery sherd"
Human Sherd
"The most shocking of creatures documented in these sherds, whats illustrated in this sherd has been proven to be a human being. This means that the Fragmen were aware of humanity during their civilization's past, though no evidence of the inverse being true (Humanity being aware of the Fragmen) has been found"
Blocks
Reliquia Bricks
Reliquia Bricks
"The Fragmen developed a special material known as Reliquia Brick, which used flint to produce its unique colour"
Ruinous Call adds a selection of Fragmen-themed stone blocks, these cool-red bricks may be crafted with 4 sand, 4 gravel, and 1 flint
Decorations
Decorations
"The exploration of ruins has revealed several decorations and symbolic artefacts, which connect to the culture and daily life of the Fragmen"
Cloud Owl Statue
"First found at an old fighting arena, these wooden sculptures of the Cloud Owl were presumably used to represent places of combat or past conflicts, implying that the Cloud Owl is viewed as an omen of incoming war or a symbol of fighting spirit in the eyes of the Fragmen"
Unknown Cat Skull
"The skull of an unidentified species of wildcat, possessing two sets of eye sockets, was noted to have been found in places of worship such as the Blood Temple, symbolizing life and the honourability of it in the eyes of the Fragmen"
Structures
Blood Temple
Blood Temple
"Found in Cherry Groves, this small temple was believed to have been a place of worship, where the Blood Priests would worship the concept of life and protection of it. It has been rumoured that temples of higher preservation have a single religious dagger attached to the trunk of the tree growing at its centre"
Generates in Cherry Grove biomes
Fragmen Fighting Grounds
Fragmen Fighting Grounds
"Plots of gravel surrounded with small barriers of Fragmen design have been left empty, no longer having fighters to practice their combat above them. The placement of Cloud Owl statues has marked this place as somewhere to fight in honour and casual competition"
Generates in Savannas, Plains, and the Badlands
