Tead
Tead aims to be a Vanilla++ Minecraft mod that adds a few simple features and give more functionality to some items. This mod adds two new ores, lead and ruby ore, many new item types, a few new armor types (with versions for different materials), and some other new items, such as handles, which are now required to craft most tools, fabric, new arrows, throwable items, and other things.
This description doesn't have all of the features that the mod provides in it, for a more extensive and informative list check out the Tead wiki.
If you want me to backport this mod to any version, found any bugs or errors, want to suggest a feature or similar you can email me at pythonbear@proton.me.
Dependencies
- Fabric-API version 0.91.0+1.20.1 was used in production, but most should work.
- GeckoLib version 4.1.1 or later.
- Minecraft: Java Edition version 1.20.1 or similar.
- Fabric Loader version 0.15.3 or later.
- Java version 17.
Tools
Sickles
-
Fast attack speed, but little damage.
-
When used on a crop it will harvest the crop, drop some XP orbs, and automatically replant the crop.
-
Dual wieldable.
-
Fast at mining the same blocks that hoes are good at (like leaves).
Hammers
-
Slow attacks with medium damage.
-
The best tool for mining building blocks, which include cobbled blocks, chiseled blocks, stairs, slabs, redstone components, bricks, processed stone-like blocks, etc.
-
Look awesome with a 3D model.
Daggers
-
Quick attacks with lesser damage.
-
Cheap to craft.
-
Dual wieldable.
-
Only good at mining spider-webs.
Staffs
-
There are a couple types of staff:
-
The Battle Staff is fast, does little to medium damage, lots of knockback and also pushes back nearby mobs.
-
The Quarterstaff is a worse, but cheaper, version of the Battle Staff.
-
The Bone Club is made with bone blocks and is slower and does slightly less knockback than the Battle Staff but more damage.
-
The Lightning Staff is made from lightning rods and an amethyst shard. It does little damage and alright knockback. When used while it is raining it will summon a lightning bolt where the player is looking and deal some magic damage to them (has a reasonable cooldown). However, if the player looks more than 100 blocks away, or doesn't look at a block (looks at the sky, void, etc.) then the bolt will strike them instead.
-
Claymores
-
Slow but powerful attacks that do lots of damage and knockback.
-
Slow down the user when they attack.
-
Expensive to craft
Double Axes
- Just like normal axes, just even slower with even more damage.
Bows
-
Bone Bow: is like a normal bow, but made of bones and slows you down a little more. Whenever you kill a creeper with it there is a chance that they will drop a music disc.
-
Long Bow: similar to a normal bow, except it is more expensive to craft. It slows you down almost to a halt when aiming, and you can only shoot when fully charged, but it has more range, accuracy, and damage.
-
Short Bow: cheaper than a normal bow, doesn't slow you down as much, but had less range, accuracy, and damage.
-
Trick Bow: can only be found in some structures, like shipwrecks. Can use all normal arrows, as well as the new arrows (which only work for the trick bow). Can be repaired with string
-
Wind Bow: pulls the target towards you, then knocks them back a bit. Can only be found in some structures, and is repaired with string.
Arrows For The Trick Bow
1. Amethyst Arrow: does extra damage to armor.-
Torch Arrow: if it hits a block it turns into a torch, otherwise if lights the mob on fire, also has a soulfire and redstone variant.
-
Obsidian Arrow: deals extra additional damage through armor.
-
TNT Arrow: explodes on impact.
-
Boring Arrow: expensive to craft, but digs a hole down to bedrock.
-
Copper Arrow: lightning strikes on impact, also works when not raining.
-
Ender Pearl Arrow: teleports you to where it lands.
-
Ruby Arrow: blacks out the screen for a split second, deals extra damage to armor, and also deals extra damage through armor.
Firebolt Slinger
-
A crossbow that can be crafted, or found in the Nether.
-
All of the arrows it shoots are lit on fire.
Throwable Weapons
-
This mod adds two new throwable weapons:
-
The Grenade: made of TNT, flint and steel, and some other components, it can be thrown like a snowball, but when it hits a block it will explode.
-
Shurikens can be crafted all of lead or of iron, but act the same either way. They can be thrown to deal damage to an enemy (a bit more than an arrow), and if you miss you can go and pick them back up.
-
Shotguns
-
No good for long range, or for very close up. It fires Lead Bullets that break up into smaller pieces (so each piece could hit a different mob).
-
Works best at around 8 blocks away.
-
You need to hold the Lead Bullets in your offhand in order to use it.
-
Has a fairly long reload time.
Armor
Crowns
-
More enchantable than average, but otherwise worse.
-
There is a gold, iron, diamond, and netherite version.
Robes
-
Made of leather and fabric.
-
Leather-tier.
-
Darker than leather and also dyeable.
Boots Of Swiftness
-
Found rarely in structures like the village tannery or buried treasure chests.
-
Leather-tier.
-
They grant speed and jumpboost as long as they are worn.
Stalwart Armor
-
Gives more knockback resistance and a little more protection.
-
There is a gold, iron, diamond, and netherite version.
Highland Armor
-
Slightly more enchantable and give some damage resistance, like that given by normal netherite armor.
-
Is dyeable.
-
There is a gold, iron, diamond, and netherite version.
Plate Armor
-
Gives some damage resistance and a little more protection.
-
Is dyeable.
-
There is a gold, iron, diamond, and netherite version.
Gold Chainmail Armor
-
Made with gold chains, like how normal chainmail is now made with normal chains.
-
Gold equivalent of chainmail, simple.
Foodstuffs
Jerky
-
Crafted from any meat or fish plus sugar and gunpowder or cocoa beans.
-
Reasonable food source.
Lead Apples
-
Gives nausea, jumpboost, and health buff.
-
Lasts a good amount of time.
Licensing And Credits
Licensing And Credits
-
The shotgun texture is from the Antique Shotgun mod and was released under the CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 DEED license by ewewukek/RedrixTTV and has not been changed in any way.
-
The code for the sickle is ripped from Crystal Spider/Nyphet's Harvest-With-Ease mod, but was been stripped of some functionality and tweaked a bit. That code was released under the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE v3 license, and so therefore this mod is also under that license.
-
All music in the music discs is not owned by me, instead by their respective owners (we are of no affiliation).
-
The sickle textures are heavily inspired by MarxistMay's Golden Hoe To Sickle texture pack.
-
All other textures where either taken or adapted from Minecraft Dungeons, adapted from other Minecraft: Java Edition textures, or created from scratch by me.
