1.0-rc-1
Compatibility
Changes
We are feature complete. This version should have complete forward compatibility with future versions of Ardwick. The remaining work on this pack is balancing and small fixes.
Features
- Latitudes. Go North to find colder biomes, and South to find warmer ones. You'll need to walk for around a day to reach these biomes, so its a trek but fully possible. Get on your horse to speed up exploration, but be careful as these biomes are home to tougher enemies.
- Small patches of mushrooms can now be found in caves.
- Stretched humidity map makes biomes and their transitions larger/smoother. The world feels more enveloping like older versions of the game.
- The pack attempts to place you in a Plains biome when you first spawn.
- Tin ore added.
- Bronze added. Combine 1 Tin Ingot with 7 Copper Ingots to create 8 Bronze Ingots. Bronze fits between Iron and Rose Gold in terms of its strength and durability.
- Rose Gold added. Combine 4 Gold Ingots and 4 Copper Ingots to create 8 Rose Gold Ingots. Rose Gold fits between Bronze and Steel in terms of strength and durability, and retains roughly half the strength of enchantments found on Gold equipment.
- Copper and Bronze equipment oxidise as they lose durability to add more visual variety to equipment.
- Pasties! Made from Raw Beef/Mutton, Potato, and Dough. Cooked on the Campfire. When eaten they provide 3 minutes of Haste and a hidden 3 minute effect that increases your yield from mining Tin Ore.
- New Flax crop allows you to farm String. This balances the lack of Spiders in most Biomes.
- Ores redistributed by biome. All ores can be found in all biomes, but Coal will be more common in Swamps, and Tin is more common in colder coastal regions etc.
- Two slabs placed side by side in the crafting grid recrafts the block they came from. Vertical placement not used as this is used to create chiselled varieties.
Balance
- Nights are now a fixed 13 minutes and 20 seconds long. Days vary between being 26 minutes and 40 seconds long at the Summer Solstice and 6 minutes and 40 seconds at the Winter Solstice. This keeps nights a manageable length, and speeds up Winter considerably so that the player spends more time in the fun seasons.
- Wild crops appear 4x rarer, and can be found at various growth stages. Crops can now be planted directly onto grass and grow incredibly slowly.
- Vigour is now capped at ±300 (the same as the range visually shown on screen) but drains half as quickly so that this balance doesn't feel punishing.
- Armour stats and speed penalties have been rebalanced. Some Existing tiers have had their existing stats changed to make room for Bronze and Rose Gold.
- Attack damage of Swords/Axes rebalanced. In Vanilla a Wooden Axe has the same attack damage as a Diamond Sword.
- Surface spawning is re-enabled with rebalanced mob biome distribtuions. Surface spawning is now disabled via an achievement if any player ever kills a Warden.
- Chorus fruit can be purchased from Clerics, and Endstone from Masons.
- Feather Falling on Leather Boots raised from I to II. Swift Sneak II added to Gold Leggings, Swift Sneak I on Rose Gold Leggings.
- Furnaces give XP again.
- Redstone ores drop their vanilla amount of Redstone again. Dropping 1 was really harsh when there are no other ores that require the player to delve that deep.
- The charcoal recipe makes 8 charcoal with 1 coal again.
- Surface lava pools removed. You must delve down into the depths to unlock the Nether.
- Crafting a heavy core now requires Netherite.
Fixes
- Droppers and Dispensers were using the Mud Kiln texture.
- Zombie villagers and Husks now only drop Rotten Flesh. This was an oversight.
- Vanilla hidden advancements are now disabled.
- Wither Skeletons no longer drop their stone swords.
RemovedHerobrine
Known issues:
These issues will be fixed in Release Candidate 2.
- Grindstones can provide effectively infinite vigour as enchantments stripped from items provide XP and the enchantment automatically re-applies itself.
- Some of the achievement names are a bit lame. I'll rethink these.
- Allow crops to be planted on dirt for consistency with being planted on grass.
- Longer pauses to vigour draining after gaining XP may feel more rewarding.
- Rose Gold swords are giving Looting III. Should be Looting I.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
