Changelog
NOTE: This is the first (and hopefully only) update to be incompatible with worlds created before this update. Please create a new world if you were playing on a previous version!
Update: This version is currently incompatible with 1.20.2
Pack Overlay -This version contains a pack overlay for 1.20.2, which ensures compatibility. This however means that the 1.20.2 version is very slightly worse than the 1.20.4. This will not be noticable in most cases, but it means that 1.20.4 is the best version to play 1.2.0
Infinite Garden
- A new dimension outside of the new hub area acting as a permanent building area
- Once you enter the Infinite Garden, your upgrades will be applied to you, as well as resistance 5, night vision and water breathing
- A fully flat landscape covered in grass and flowers. The time is permanently set to dusk
- If you die, most of your items will be transported into the Infinite Garden, allowing you to build with them
- Once you reach a certain skillpoint milestone within a single run, new mobs will start spawning in the Infinite Garden
- For 5 or more in a single run: Chickens
- For 10 or more in a single run: Pigs
- For 25 or more in a single run: Sheep
- For 50 or more in a single run: Cows
- For 75 or more in a single run: Llamas
- For 100 or more in a single run: Foxes
- For 150 or more in a single run: Pandas
- For 200 or more in a single run: Sniffers

Cosmic Dome
- The Cosmic Dome is the new main hub area of Roguecraft
- Sections:
- Tutorial
- Mostly unchanged from the previous version
- The information in the books has been updated to be accurate for 1.2
- Added a new, empty lectern
- Upgrades
- The layout has vastly changed to be more organised
- Shops are categorised into main equipment, stats, effects, mana, starting items, equipment enchantments, and bow upgrades
- Now contains a path directly to abilities and classes
- Contains the ender chest used for the loadout system
- Abilities
- Mostly the same layout, slightly re-organised
- Classes
- Re-arranged the shops to create space for the new Reaper class as well as a future class
- Infinite Garden
- Simply a tunnel that leads into the Infinite Garden
- The Seal
- The Seal contains 8 obelisks, 7 small ones with blue runes, as well as a larger one with red runes
- The obelisks each resemble a boss. Those that have been added are surrounded by blue particles, the others by red particles
- These obelisks will display text when interacted with
- Once a boss has been defeated, their obelisk will explode, changing their text
- Tutorial
- Loadout System
- Original version developed by Budged (https://modrinth.com/user/Budged https://www.youtube.com/@budged)
- Allows you to change your inventory at the start of a run
- Your inventory in the Cosmic Dome contains mostly outlined items, which when put into the loadout chest near the entrance to the upgrade room, will decide the order of your items
- You may also remove item from the chest to prevent them from showing up in your inventory when starting a run
- Downgrader
- Located in your hotbar
- Will downgrade any shop when holding this item and shiftclicking the shop
- Cannot decrese the level beyond the minimum
- This will NOT return any skillpoints
- Start Run
- Has been completely resprited
- This item now has multiple states
- Start Run: Same functionality as before. Will be grayed out if used in the tutorial -Leave Run: Will remove your ready status. Will be grayed out once all players are ready -Join Run: Instead of instantly joining an active run, you will have to use the item in this state
Wildfire
- A recreation of the hovering inferno from the 2017 mob vote
- Acts as a midboss for the Ender Dragon
- Once you get close to a blaze spawner, it will break, killing all nearby blazes and summoning the Wildfire after a short animation
- Will generate an arena upon spawning
- Spawns with 4 shields, granting the Wildfire 25% damage reduction each
- The shields will appear cracked the more they've been damaged
- The Wildfire itself has 50 health, gaining 150 extra health for each nearby player (200 health for 1 player, 350 health for 2 players ect.)
- Each shield has 120 health
- Attacks:
- Small fireballs: Shoots a large amount of fire charges in random directions
- Big fireballs: Shoots 3 waves of 4 large fireballs in a random direction, with each fireball having a 90 degree angle to the next. It also shoots one additional fireball at each nearby player per wave
- Pulse: Deals damage to nearby players after charging up
- Pillars: Shoots out 5 flames on the floor that explode into pillars once reaching the edge of the arena, dealing damage to nearby players
- The Wildfire drops 16 blaze powder
- Once defeated, the Wildfire will spawn the stronghold at the spawnpoint for the current run -> Side effect: Gaining a blaze rod will no longer spawn the stronghold -> Blazes no longer drop blaze rods until the Wildfire has been defeated
Reaper
- A new class that replaces the mana bar with a "soul charge" bar
- Soul charges are only obtained by killing any mob
- You maximum soul charge is your maximum mana / 20, rounded down
- Abilities will use up one soul charge per use
- Instead of a sword, this class will start with a scythe. These are functionally the same as swords
- Class ability: Vengeful Spectre
- Costs all souls
- Upon use, will unleach a spectre that homes in on any nearby mob, bouncing off on impact. The amount of hits is the amount of souls you had upon using this ability times 3
- Scales with your own damage
- Does grant soul charges, making this an easy way to replenish them
Progression Changes
- Each shop can now have one of 3 locks above them
- Gold locks indicate that an update is fully locked and can't be upgraded at all
- Iron locks are slightly more unlocked, allowing you to buy at least one level
- Copper locks are almost fully unlocked, allowing you to buy most levels
- Some shops don't have a lock at all and can be upgraded towards their full level
- Locks disappear as you defeat bosses (currently just the Wildfire and Ender Dragon)
Skillpoints
- Skillpoints can now be found in loot chests. Each chest has two 20% chances to contain one skillpoint, with the exception of village chests, which only have two 10% chances
- This means that there's a low chance to get 2 skillpoints in a single chest
- Every vanilla advancement now grants you one skillpoint -The advancements that granted skillpoints previously also only grant you one, but are reset every single run
- The Wildfire also acts as a new way of obtaining skillpoints, granting you 10 on defeat
- Changed the sprite of skillpoints
- Skill pearls have been resprited and renamed to "skill gems"
Advancements
- Added 8 new advancements
- Mob D: Defeat the Wildfrie
- World Record: Defeat the Ender Dragon with a difficulty level of 2 or below
- Perfect Optimization: Get 500 skillpoints in a single run
- Majik: Purchase your very first ability
- Nice Try: Attempt to destroy the hub (extra points for making a bug report if you actually manage to destroy it)
- An Old Friend: Find a dog's spirit in the Infinite Garden
- Broken Immortality: Die in the Infinite Garden
- keepInventory: Retrieve your inventory in the Infinite Garden
- All advancements now have their own unique sprite
Speedrun Timers
- Added two optional speedrun timers
- "Single Run" only counts the time for the current run
- "New World" starts once you begin your first run
- These timers can be toggled by using /trigger (single_run_timer|new_world_timer)
- Once you defeat a boss for the first time and you have the new world timer enabled, it will display your time in chat
- The same applies to the single run timer, except it happens for every run, not just the first kill since creating the world
Ender Dragon
- Decreased the health from 1000 to 800
- Decreased damage of some explosion attacks
- It's now forced to perch every 40 seconds
- This only happens if there's a player inside of a 100 block radius of 0, 70, 0 to prevent the void strafe bug from breaking
- Decreased its volume
