Bug Fix: Seasonal Snow & Ice Generation
This update fixes an issue where vanilla Minecraft would continue generating snow layers and freezing water in snowy and frozen biomes during warm seasons, causing constant spawning, melting, and visual flickering.
Fixed
-
Warm Season Suppression
- Natural snow layer generation and water freezing are now completely disabled during Spring, Summer, and Autumn.
- Snow and ice can now only generate naturally during Winter (Cold Season) when the weather is Snow or a Blizzard.
-
Visual Flickering
- Prevented vanilla from attempting to place snow layers and ice before block updates occur.
- Eliminates the repeated spawn-and-melt cycle that caused noticeable flickering in warm seasons.
-
Chunk & World Tick Generation
- Seasonal restrictions are now applied consistently during both normal world ticks and chunk generation, preventing unwanted snow and ice from appearing after new terrain is generated.
-
Mixin & Manifest Loading
- Fixed a build configuration issue that prevented mixins from loading correctly outside the development environment.
- Seasonal overrides now work properly in both singleplayer and dedicated servers.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
