๐ About
My Nether's Delight is an add-on for Farmer's Delight focused on adding culinary content to the Nether! Hunt infernal creatures, cultivate invasive crops and use your questionable cooking skills to prepare a myriad of disgusting meals, suspicious desserts and moss-covered snacks.
๐ฝ๏ธ Infernal Cuisine
- Hoglins: turn their loins into sausages, chops, burgers, breakfasts, stews and an enormous Stuffed Hoglin.
- Striders: did you know they are ovoviviparous? Crack their eggs, mince their meat and prepare soups, tarts, stroganoff or a whole Striderloaf.
- Ghasts: there is no flour in the Nether, so a chef has to use whatever is floating around. Apparently, Ghasts taste a little like rice noodles.
- Bullet Peppers: use them in curries, chilidogs, skewers, stuffed peppers and other foods that are probably too spicy for the human body.
- Serve placeable feasts such as Stuffed Hoglin, Striderloaf, Ghasta with Cream, Bread Loaves and Magma Cake.
๐ฅ The Blazier
The Blazier is a temperamental Nether cooking station that refuses to settle for a single temperature. It has four heat states, ranging from weak embers to a white-hot flame, allowing it to provide the right kind of heat for different cooking processes such as campfire cooking, smoking, baking and smelting.
Its cooking speed can be configured, and the entire block can be disabled if your kitchen already contains enough barely controlled fire hazards.
๐ถ๏ธ Pungency and Poaching
- Caustic Pungency: Bullet Peppers and other pungent foods can harm unprotected players near intense heat. Eating extremely spicy food beside an open flame was never a great idea.
- Invigorating Pungency: players protected from fire receive regeneration near heat sources instead. Proper equipment turns a terrible decision into a surprisingly useful one.
- Curse of Poaching: allows swords and axes to obtain certain Farmer's Delight ingredients without using a knife. Just be careful when choosing your prey, or the curse may give you a nasty surprise.
๐ฑ Nether Farming
- Powdery Cannon: bamboo during its worst emo phase, now armed with bright and dangerously spicy berries.
- Powdery Cane: smaller and thinner than the Cannon, but no less invasive. Its base can provide gunpowder and, in the right soil, additional peppers.
- Bullet Pepper: extremely spicy, strangely bright and not advisable to eat beside anything currently on fire.
- Leteos Compost: when the land forgets even its own name, almost any crop can feel at home in it.
- Resurgent Soil: helps crops and plants grow outside their usual environments.
- Resurgent Farmland: water is difficult to find in the Nether, so this farmland uses nearby heat instead.
- Fungus Colonies: Crimson and Warped Fungi can form renewable colonies when planted on Resurgent Soil.
๐งฑ Building and Decoration
- Powdery Wood Set: a complete building set with planks, mosaic blocks, stairs, slabs, fences, doors, trapdoors, signs, hanging signs and more. Bamboo is still going through that emo phase.
- Nether Cabinets: organize your kitchen using Nether Brick, Red Nether Brick, Blackstone Brick and Powdery cabinets.
- Nether Stove: a proper stove for anyone brave enough to build a kitchen in Hell.
- Nether Trophies: display Hoglin, Zoglin, Skoglin and Golden trophies. Remember to wax them unless you want your living room to smell like rotting flesh.
๐ฆ Beta
The mod is still under development, so strange behavior may occasionally involve more than just the food. Back up important worlds and test updates before adding them to a large modpack. Report problems on GitHub. You can also support development through Ko-fi.
๐ FAQ
- Why does Pungency have two icons? The Bullet Pepper icon represents Caustic Pungency, which harms the player near heat. The heart icon represents Invigorating Pungency, granted when the player is properly protected from fire.
- Why are my Powdery crops growing so slowly? They are invasive Nether plants, but their growth still depends on the block beneath them. Resurgent Soil helps them grow faster and produce better yields.
- Can I use it in a modpack? Yes! Please link to the official Modrinth page and do not rehost the files.
- Is there a Fabric version? Thanks to Lesbian, an Fabric port is available as My Nether's Delight Refabricated. Fabric-specific issues should be reported to that project.
๐ Special Thanks
Special thanks to Sarinsa and Umpaz for their help with the code, and to TCGhost for creating the Pungency effect icons.
