Alarm Mod 1.0.0 — full release
Complete rework of the mod. The alarm block is now a proper RGB siren and a real electrical device on the Create: Power Grid network.
What changed
- The block is now an RGB siren. It mounts on any face and aims its light away from that surface.
- Four contacts: red, green, blue and a shared ground.
- Colour comes from the wiring. Each channel is a resistor to the common ground — literally an LED with a shared cathode. Power only R and you get red, R + G gives yellow, all three give white. No GUI, no dyes.
- Brightness is analog. Channel level follows the voltage across it, so a rheostat or a step-down transformer dims the siren smoothly instead of switching it on and off.
- Veil lighting now takes its colour from the channels themselves instead of a hardcoded red. The ambient glow and both sweeping light cones are tinted by the actual RGB output.
- Power Grid is now a hard dependency. You will need Create, Power Grid and Veil installed.
Breaking changes
- Redstone support is gone entirely. The block no longer reacts to redstone and no longer emits a comparator signal. It is powered exclusively by the Power Grid network. This is a deliberate 0.x → 1.0.0 break.
- No sound. The siren is silent by design.
- The block is now more expensive to craft: the recipe ends with Redstone Charged Iron magnetised through Power Grid.
Fixes
- Fixed the siren failing to update on a redstone change.
- Fixed light leaking through blocks around the siren.
- Fixed siren lights colliding across dimensions when two sirens stood at the same coordinates in different worlds.
- Fixed duplicated block-update packets on every neighbour change.
- Acid fluid blocks are no longer missing their models.
- Sound events and the block drop the right things.
For developers
- Flywheel and Ponder are now compile-only dependencies, so the dev runtime no longer ends up with two conflicting versions of Flywheel in it.
- The build is documented: it needs a JDK 21 toolchain, and Gradle 9.2.1 cannot run on JDK 26.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
