Alighieri's Legacy v2.2.0 — Logistics, Souls & Balance Update!
Welcome to version 2.2.0! This update breathes life into the mod's progression, introducing the first soul-harvesting mechanics, a custom logistics cable network, dynamic anti-exploit wrath scaling, and fully configurable balance options.
1. The Soul Harvest Begins
We've introduced the foundation of the mod's tech-magic fuel loop:
- Tormented Soul: Slaying Nether fiends (Blazes, Ghasts, Wither Skeletons, Hoglins, Piglin Brutes, Magma Cubes, and Zombified Piglins) now has a 20% chance to drop a Tormented Soul.
- Alternative Fuel Source: Don't want to fight? You can now use Soul Sand and Soul Soil as a weaker, fast-burning alternative fuel in your reactors.
2. Holy Cables
Connect your infrastructure seamlessly with the brand-new Holy Cable:
- Universal Compatibility: Connects to any block with energy capabilities (reactors, transmitters, or cables from other tech mods) and automatically adjusts its 3D model connections.
- Throughput: Safely transfers up to 4,000 FE/tick while actively balancing the energy charge among adjacent cables.
3. Anti-Exploit Wrath Calibration
The Righteous Wrath mechanics have been fine-tuned to reward genuine combat while blocking farming exploits:
- Dynamic Scaling: You now gain 0.25 Wrath points per 1 point of damage dealt, capped at a maximum of 4 points per single strike. A standard 8-damage sword hit awards 2 points (requiring roughly 50 hits for a full 100% bar).
- Nether Crusade: Defeating Nether fiends fills the Wrath meter twice as fast!
- Exploit Protection: Abuse prevention is active. Wrath points are only awarded when hitting hostile monsters, Nether fiends, or other players. Smacking innocent chickens or passive cows will yield absolutely nothing.
4. First-Pass Balance Tuning (Fully Configurable!)
All balance metrics have been exposed to the config files. Here are the default values on paper:
- Archangel Chestplate: Capacity set to 600,000 FE. Flight drains 40 FE/tick (totaling 12.5 minutes of continuous flight on a full charge).
- Reactor Output: Produces 200 FE/tick. One Tormented Soul generates a total of 120,000 FE (150 seconds of flight). A block of Soul Sand yields roughly 25 seconds of flight.
- Holy Transmitter: Transmits at a rate of 1,000 FE/tick (pro tip: you will need multiple reactors running in parallel to match this delivery speed!).
5. UI/UX Polish
- Wrath Bar Optimization: The empty background slot of the Wrath meter has been adjusted from a harsh pitch-black to a smoother, dark-brown gradient for better visibility against game backdrops.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
