Version 2.4.0 — "Bonds of Souls & Patricia"
A major content update focusing on the rework of the Righteous Wrath mechanics, soul automation, the introduction of the legendary Patrician's Ring, and an extensive enchantment system.
Righteous Wrath Rebalance & UI
- New Wrath Accumulation Logic: Damage taken now grants 0.1 points per 1 unit of damage (maximum 2 points per hit, no more than once per second). Fractional values operate on a probability basis, meaning weak hits (such as from small slimes) will rarely fill the meter.
- Visual Improvement: Added 10 dark division lines with golden ends over the meter fill indicator for better capacity readability.
Soul Logistics & Power
- Cables: Added a new Cable block for energy transmission. Visually, it features a metallic tube with a blue core, golden cuffs at the ends, and a pulsing, glowing node in the center.
- Soul Harvesting in the Nether: Entities killed in the Inferno dimension now have a 20% chance to release a purple soul orb. It automatically flies toward the player and is credited to their account.
- Soul Counter: Removed the "Soul Vessel" item. It is replaced by a permanent HUD counter with a purple light, displayed directly below the main player bars.
- Soul Receiver: Added a new block. It must be placed directly adjacent to the reactor and automatically drains 1 soul per second from nearby players into the reactor's buffer.
Patrician's Ring & Magic
- Curios Slot: The ring is now equipped in a dedicated slot named "Patrician's Ring". It cannot be removed manually (except in Creative mode) and remains with the owner upon death instead of dropping.
- Curses & Blessings: Fully implemented all 10 curses and 9 blessings.
- Distortion Flash: Added a new active ability bound to the G key.
- Crafting Recipe: Forging the ring requires 4 Amethysts, 2 Netherite Ingots, and 1 Nether Star.
Enchantments & Books
- 19 New Enchantments: All spells are integrated via datapacks. They can only be found as treasure or rare loot in structures. In Creative mode, they are laid out as books within the mod's creative tab.
Technical Deviations from Original Specification
- Fortune +1 & Looting +1 are implemented as approximations: they provide random bonus drops from ores, crops, and mobs rather than altering the actual enchantment level.
- Holy Magic Penalty: Consuming healing potions and golden apples now penalizes the player. Splash healing potions do not invert their damage, but their healing effect on the player is completely blocked.
- Morning Blindness is implemented using a custom server-side Darkness effect instead of complete blindness.
Version 2.4.1 — "Morning Mist"
A minor update aimed at removing disruptive visual effects and correcting localization strings.
- Morning Visuals Overhaul: The server-side Darkness effect has been completely removed. It is replaced by a smooth client-side fog.
- Fog Properties: The fog appears between 6:00 and 10:00 in-game time. Render distance smoothly compresses to roughly 44 blocks. The effect scales up over the first 15 seconds of the morning and smoothly dissipates by 10:00. The screen does not darken; it gently blurs the distant horizon.
- Holy Protection: The "Rejection of Light" trait on the Archangel Helmet still completely negates this fog.
- Localization: Adjusted the tooltips for the Patrician's Ring: replaced the text "solar blindness" with "morning mist".
Version 2.4.2 — "Horizon Haze"
A technical hotfix adjusting the density and distance of the morning mist for better atmosphere.
- Visibility Balance: Morning fog distance has been increased to 136 blocks (8.5 chunks).
- Smooth Transition: The fog now starts approximately 75 blocks away from the player (instead of right in front of them). This creates a light atmospheric haze rather than a solid wall.
- Optimization: If a player's render distance is set below 8.5 chunks in their game settings, the mod's morning mist will blend into the vanilla world-border fog and will not be noticeable.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
