[1.0.0] - 2026-06-27
First working release: a client-side fishing progression layer with collection tracking, cosmetic themes, and prestige. Fully client-side — it never changes what the server gives you.
Added
Catch tracking
- Server-aware catch detection via inventory diffing, so it works on custom servers that put caught fish straight into your inventory (no reliance on vanilla loot entities).
- Fish identification from a bundled data table of 71 species, matched by custom model data (with a display-name fallback).
- Rarity tiers (Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary) driving XP, colours, and badges.
- XP and angler levels with a gentle streak multiplier for back-to-back catches.
Collection & stats (open with J)
- Collection book listing every species caught, coloured by rarity, sorted by count.
- Lifetime totals: catches, distinct species, best streak.
- Time-spent-fishing tracker (lifetime + per session), counted only while a line is in the water.
Badges
- Per-species medals — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond — shown next to each fish.
- Thresholds scale by rarity, so commons take a real grind while rare fish badge up sooner.
Titles
- Milestone rank titles from Novice up to Legendary Angler, shown on the HUD and collection screen.
HUD themes
- Level-unlocked colour themes: Ocean (5), Forest (15), Sunset (30), Midnight (50), Prestige Gold (75).
- Switch themes with
←/→in the collection screen; choice is saved. - Theme recolours the fishing HUD, the XP bar/level, and all in-game interfaces.
Interface theming
- Optional takeover of the vanilla XP bar and level number, recoloured to your theme (defers to the vanilla jump bar while mounted).
- Theme tint applied across all GUI screens — inventory, chests, menus, and more — while leaving items, text, and the player model untouched.
Prestige (unlocks at level 75)
- Rebirth that fully wipes progression (level, XP, collection, badges, lifetime stats).
- Confirmation prompt before committing (
Pto start,Enterto confirm). - Rewards: a prestige numeral + star on your title (e.g.
Master Angler ✦II) and three exclusive prestige-only themes — Abyssal, Crimson, Void. - Legacy viewer (
Lin the collection screen): browse archived snapshots of every past life.
Celebrations
- Toasts and sounds for new discoveries, badge tier-ups, level-ups, title promotions, theme unlocks, treasure catches, and prestige.
Changed
- The default theme is now plain Vanilla: fresh players — and each fresh prestige — see stock Minecraft with no tint or XP-bar takeover until they choose a theme.
Configuration
Stored in config/anglerxp.json:
replaceXpBar— recolour the vanilla XP bar/level (defaulttrue).tintInterfaces— apply the theme tint to all GUI screens (defaulttrue).selectedTheme— the active HUD theme.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.10 · Fabric Loader · Fabric API
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
