1.4
Compatibility
Changes
Hey everyone! Sorry for disappearing for a bit—I was slightly out of commission, but I'm back on my feet now. Version 1.4 was actually finished a while ago (we are officially out of beta!), but the release got delayed because I tried to record a cool trailer. Turns out my laptop is just too weak for proper recording and editing, so I decided not to fight my hardware and just drop the update directly.
Say hello to ApexScaler 1.4!
Supported Versions:
- ApexScaler 1.4: Officially tested and running smoothly on 1.8.8 and 1.8.9 (it won't launch on 1.8, but feel free to test older sub-versions at your own risk).
What's New & Cool:
- Smart Adaptive Resolution: Press F8 and set your target FPS (up to 140 FPS). Whenever your framerate drops below that threshold, the mod dynamically lowers the internal resolution in real time to keep gameplay buttery smooth, then gently scales it back to normal once performance stabilizes.
- Crisp Visuals: Added sharpening and anti-aliasing algorithms (CAS and SMAA Ultra) so your game stays sharp and detailed instead of turning into a blurry mess.
- Advanced Entity Culling: Mobs and entities hidden behind solid walls will no longer strain your GPU—whatever is out of sight simply stops rendering. Item frames got a massive performance optimization too.
- Informative Overlay: A clean HUD overlay has been added to the corner of your screen, displaying your real-time FPS and current scaling percentage.
- Shader Protection: The mod automatically pauses scaling features if you turn on heavy external shaders, saving your screen from graphical glitches.
- Bug Extermination: Hunted down and squashed every remaining issue, crash, and performance oversight from previous builds.
Important Announcement:
Sincere apologies from Foxdragon and Kaviral_ for dropping this release so late! We really hope the project continues to grow and develop moving forward.
Also, please note: Version 1.4 marks the final update for Minecraft 1.8.8 and 1.8.9. Support for these versions is now complete, and all future releases will be strictly for newer Minecraft versions.
By the way, Version 1.5 is already fully finished! Just a couple of minutes after publishing version 1.4, we'll be dropping version 1.5 for Minecraft 1.9 and 1.9.4, featuring some truly massive changes!
Thank you so much for your time and support (though honestly, nobody is really supporting us yet-this whole project is powered by pure passion and enthusiasm)!
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
