Armor Stand Skins
Put a player head on an armor stand and it’ll look like that player. The mod uses the skin’s slim or wide model, hides the head item, and keeps the stand’s pose. Poses made with Armor Poser work too. You can still put armor on the stand, and it’ll render over the skin.
How to use
Place an armor stand and put a player head on it. That’s it.
Adding the head turns the stand’s arms on, so you can give it items. If you turn Show Arms off, the skin’s arms will be hidden too.
Settings
With Armor Poser installed, these are under Scale in its stand screen. Without Armor Poser, sneak and use the stand to open a small settings screen.
-
Head Skin turns the player appearance off if you want the wooden stand back.
-
Lock Skin keeps the skin and cape as they are, even if the player changes them later. Unlock it to load their current look again. Putting a different player head on the stand also unlocks it. Wait for the skin to load before locking it.
-
Cape is off by default. Elytra hide the cape, and they’ll only use the cape texture when this setting is on.
-
Cape Source lets you choose Mojang, Essential, or Both. Both uses the player’s equipped Mojang cape if they have one, and falls back to Essential otherwise.
Multiplayer
Everyone who wants to see the player skin needs the mod. Without it, they’ll see a normal armor stand with a head on it.
On a dedicated server, installing the mod on the server is the easiest way to share the settings above. They’re saved with the world, not on the stand item, so they won’t show up in item tooltips.
If the server has Armor Poser but not this mod, survival clients can still sync the settings through Armor Poser. If it has neither, the settings only apply on your client.
Optional mods
-
Armor Poser - adds posing and puts this mod’s settings in its stand screen.
-
3D Skin Layers - gives the hat, jacket, sleeves, and pants the same 3D overlays and distance fade as player skins.
-
Essential - lets you use wardrobe capes on the normal cape mesh. Essential’s 3D cape cosmetics aren’t supported.
