[1.4.0] — 2026-05-31 (NeoForge 1.21.1)
Asuras of the Mahabharata. First mob expansion — three hostile demons that roam the world (or in Mahishasura's case, must be summoned). The Asuras tie the new armor sets back into combat: kill the buffalo-demon boss and you earn the full Mahishasura-Mardini Kavacha, lore-accurate to Durga's victory over him.
Added — 3 hostile Asuras
| Mob | Role | HP | Damage | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rakshasa | Random spawn (forest demon) | 30 | 4 | Baseline hostile, drops bones + flesh |
| Daitya | Random spawn (giant demon) | 60 | 7 | Tankier, scaled 1.5×, may drop iron |
| Mahishasura | Summon-only boss | 200 + 150 shield | 12 | Drops full Mahishasura-Mardini armor + 2-4 netherite |
Added — boss mechanics (Mahishasura)
- Divine shield system — 150 HP of damage absorption sits in front of Mahishasura's 200 HP. Yellow shield bar drains first; once depleted, glass-break sound plays and red HP bar starts taking hits. Effective TTK: 350 damage.
- Single split boss-bar HUD — custom client-side renderer
(
AstraShastraBossBarRenderer) draws ONE bar visually split 60/40: red HP on left, yellow shield on right, black divider between. Shield% is encoded into the bar's display-name suffix on server tick, parsed back out on client — avoids needing custom network packets. - Shield state is NBT-persistent — survives world reload mid-fight.
Added — spawn eggs
- 3 spawn eggs (vivid red Rakshasa, rust-brown Daitya, royal-purple Mahishasura).
- Mahishasura is summon-only (no natural spawn), egg is the intended encounter trigger.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
