Changes
Small update with mostly fixes and polishing before I start working on the next big update. Also had our first PR with good ideas and code contributions. Once again, if you find any bugs or have any suggestions, please open an issue on GitHub.
- Added bigger chance for birds to perch on top of weirdly shaped blocks (like fences, walls, leaves, etc.)
- Added even bigger chance for birds to perch when it's bad weather (rain, snow, thunder)
- Added config options to set spawning pack sizes and max flock size for each bird type (by @gjacka)
- Added sprite fade out when birds are far away (can be turned off in config) (ty @gjacka)
- Added a grace distance (16 blocks) outside of render distance where birds can still exist before despawning
- Improved stuck detection when landing
- Improved debugging texts in console and logs
- Changed some of the Common Swift parameters like wing flapping speed to be faster
- Changed bird spawn distance calculation to better fit the player's render distance
- Removed creative mode check for "spawn" command
- Removed useless JSpecify annotations dependency
- Fixed birds being able to perch onto a block below another block
- Fixed birds performing group takeoff not telling others that were in the landing or flying state
- Fixed Northern Cardinal config toggles not working properly (ty @gjacka)
- Fixed birds being able to spawn on water when "Ignore Spawn Block Checks" is enabled
- Fixed birds being able to spawn outside of render distance
- Fixed birds being able to spawn in unloaded chunks
- Fixed clearing of cache starting too late, causing birds to spawn but not register properly
- Optimized backend logic when spawning on chunk load
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
