Changes
Changes
- Config warnings about ignored entries show the full entry path
- Startup warnings about ignored config entries name the full entry path, so leftover switches in config files that are no longer read are easy to find
- Blocks and items can no longer be disabled in the config; old disabled entries are ignored with a warning instead of crashing the game (BetterEnd#281)
- Built for Fabric API 0.92.12+1.20.1 (Fabric Loader 0.19.5)
Fixes
- Slabs and stairs made from obsidian blocks keep their obsidian behaviour, so pistons can no longer push them
- The chair seat entity has a proper name instead of "entity.bclib.chair"
- Loading a singleplayer world no longer logs "Tried to read from global registry!" errors
- Sub-biomes and features are chosen the same way on every server start, so biomes and terrain no longer change at chunk borders after a restart
- World generation of BCLib-based mods no longer reads or writes blocks outside the area vanilla allows, which could crash or misplace blocks with C2ME
- The game no longer crashes when loading or creating a world with BetterNether and Colormatic, Vanadium or PCA (Carpet addon) installed (BetterNether#290, BetterNether#246, BetterNether#299)
- Mob spawners set with a BetterNether spawn egg spawned nothing when other entities were nearby (BetterNether#281)
- BetterEnd foods no longer share their food values with vanilla items, so mods that change food values per item (e.g. IguanaTweaks Reborn) only affect the intended item (BetterEnd#504)
- Signs of BetterEnd/BetterNether woods (e.g. Umbrella Tree signs in End houses) no longer crash the game when another mod loads the sign textures early (BetterEnd#308, BetterEnd#297)
- Players other than the one who placed a chair or bar stool are shown seated on it again instead of walking around while the server thinks they sit (BetterEnd#353)
- Unbreaking protects armored and crystalite elytras during flight as well as it protects the vanilla elytra (BetterEnd#321)
- Anvils from BCLib-based mods are part of the vanilla anvil block and item tags (BetterEnd#303)
- Voxel structures (giant ice stars, giant mossy glowshrooms) stored several megabytes per structure, too large to send to clients (BetterEnd#582)
- Eroded structure blocks no longer all slide in one direction with parallel worldgen (C2ME) (BetterEnd#477, BetterEnd#587)
- /bclib dump_datapack writes the "type" key into worldgen/betterx/biome files again, so the dump can be used as a datapack (BCLib#156)
- The game no longer crashes on startup when a custom block or item model can not be created; the model is skipped with a warning (BCLib#151, BCLib#211)
- Biomes listed in force_exclude of config/bclib/biomes.json no longer generate in the End and Nether, including vanilla and sub-biomes like End Highlands (BCLib#154)
- Existing worlds keep their End and Nether generator settings on restart, and dedicated servers only use server.json to pick the BetterX world preset (BCLib#160)
- Lithium no longer floods dedicated server consoles with "Class Analysis Error" for our blocks and items (BCLib#240)
- Dedicated servers no longer re-inspect every region file of the world on each start; unreadable chunks are skipped and the per-file log spam is gone (BCLib#146)
- Recipe lookups no longer sort every matching recipe on each call, which slowed down machines and furnaces (BCLib#225)
- BCLib no longer hooks every item check in the game for its shears support, which was blamed for server freezes (BCLib#233, BCLib#239)
- Players can join through a Velocity proxy again; /bclib no longer sends custom command argument types (BCLib#124)
- Placing a fully worn anvil no longer crashes, and dropped anvils keep their exact wear (BCLib#128, BetterEnd#289)
- EMI shows the anvil (hammer) recipes again, also on servers, and joining a server no longer logs "Tried to read from global registry!" (BCLib#193, BetterEnd#385)
- Axes mine wood fast again, and all tags BCLib ships load without "missing following references" errors (BCLib#234, BCLib#141, BCLib#145, BCLib#158, BCLib#171, BCLib#192, BCLib#206)
- Smithing with a hammer on an anvil no longer crashes dedicated servers (BCLib#127, BCLib#123, BCLib#164, BCLib#230)
- Dedicated server crashed on start because the update checker loaded a client-only class
Validation
- ✅ Dedicated server (Minecraft 1.20.1) started (BCLib 3.0.15, BetterNether 9.0.11, BetterEnd 4.0.12, wunderreich 6.0.5)

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
