better-creative
Minecraft gives you no control over the creative tabs. Install a few mods and the bar turns into pages of tabs you have to click through to reach the three you actually use. This mod lets you sort them, pin the ones you need, and hide the rest.

Changes
Arcadia Better Creative 2.0.0
Tabs are reordered by dragging, a modpack or a server can decide which tabs exist, and every screen was redrawn.
New
- Drag to reorder — In the settings screen, grab a row by its icon or its name and drop it where you want; the list reorders live, and holding the pointer against the top or bottom edge scrolls it. Dragging selects the Custom order.
- Drag in the creative tab bar — Press a tab and release it on another: it takes that place. Pinning follows the drop. Off by default, so a click that slips onto a neighbour moves nothing: turn on "Tab bar drag" in the settings screen.
- Tabs locked by the server stay locked — On a server running Arcadia Creative Admin, the tabs your profile locks are removed from the tab bar, the search tab and the settings screen, and cannot be switched back on. Nothing changes on a server without it.
- Modpack tab whitelist — A pack can ship
config/arcadia/arcadia-better-creative-policy.jsonlisting the tabs it allows, optionally under a profile name, withmod:*for a whole namespace. Excluded tabs are hidden, not offered in the settings, and kept out of the search tab. When both a pack and a server restrict, only the tabs both allow are listed. /arcadiabettercreative policy reload— Re-reads the pack policy without restarting, for pack authors iterating on a whitelist. A client command: it never reaches a server.
Changed
- New look — The settings, presets and help screens share the interface of the other Arcadia mods: a dark window, flat buttons and a status line. The settings screen groups its options as Order, Options and Tabs next to the tab list, shows each tab's mod, and uses a star and an eye for pin and hide.
- The in-game help is up to date — It covers modpack and server locks, the tab bar drag, and the confirmations, and reads correctly in English and French.
- Reset and preset deletion ask first, with Cancel as the default choice.
- Hover feedback in the tab list and the preset list; Delete tints red.
- Closing the settings screen without changing anything no longer rewrites the config file.
- License updated to text version 2.1: same terms of substance, reorganised.
Fixed
- Dropping the jar into a dedicated server's
mods/folder no longer stops the server from starting: the mod is inert there. - A pack whitelist no longer leaks into the search tab when narrowing it fails.
- Alphabetical order no longer depends on the system language.
- Labels, notices and help topics are no longer cut at common GUI scales, in English or French.
- A setting saved right after another is no longer undone by NeoForge re-reading the config file.
- No more "reference map could not be read" warning on launch.
- NeoForge builds older than 21.1.241 are refused at launch with a clear message instead of loading untested.
Notes
- The pack whitelist is a display filter; server-side enforcement is the job of the companion mod, Arcadia Creative Admin.
- Existing configurations and presets are read unchanged. Upgrading from 1.0.0 or 1.1.0 keeps your layout.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
