Changes
New features
- Added a Dynamic Stats setting in Mod Menu.
- When on, voxel materials are taken from your inventory and add their bonuses to the weapon’s stats.
- When off, materials are unlimited, as in creative mode, and weapons use base stats.
- Servers now share their Blocksmith config. On a dedicated server, the server’s config is used while you’re connected: Dynamic Stats, Weapon Abilities, grid size and all materials. Your own config comes back when you disconnect and is never overwritten.
- Mod Menu settings are read-only while connected to a server.
- Changing the grid size no longer needs a restart on the client or the server.
- Weapons keep their stats up to date. Changing materials, Dynamic Stats or the grid size now updates existing weapons automatically, with no re-forging needed.
Balance changes
- Increased the forged sword’s base attack damage from 7 to 10.
- Melee abilities (Valor, Life, Frostbite, Double Attack) now only trigger on swings that are at least 90% charged.
- Valor now only counts hostile mobs. Armor stands, villagers, pets and passive mobs no longer count.
- Teleport now only triggers from projectiles that deal damage, so snowballs and eggs no longer trigger it.
- Teleport now always dodges the hit. If there’s no room near the attacker, you dodge in place.
- The extra arrows from Burst Fire can no longer be picked up.
- Arrows from a forged bow always deal at least 1 damage.
Bug fixes
- Fixed weapons made of negative-durability materials (moss, snow, and so on) getting zero or negative durability. Durability is now at least 1.
- Fixed weapons breaking right away when a change lowered their maximum durability. They’re now left with 1 durability instead.
- Fixed unedited weapons showing old default stats, such as 1.66 attack speed, after Dynamic Stats was turned off.
- Fixed the Forging Table reporting unsaved changes on a fresh weapon that hadn’t been edited.
- Fixed fresh weapons being held with the wrong grip.
- Fixed the blueprint library keeping the old resolution after a grid size change.
- Fixed Burst Fire, Double Attack and Singularity effects carrying over into the next world when you left a world right after using them.
Security and performance
- Saving a weapon now needs a Forging Table within 8 blocks.
- The server now drops invalid voxels when saving: outside the grid, unknown material, or the same cell twice.
- Weapon saves are limited to one every half second per player.
- Added limits that stop oversized weapon data from lagging the server.
- Weapon designs are now saved in a compact format, which makes world and player saves much smaller. Weapons saved before this update still load.
- New: weapons now update their stats only after a config change, instead of every tick. This greatly reduces server load with many players or large designs.
Mod Menu changes
- The grid size note now reads: “Edited forged weapons do not rescale when changing grid resolution.”
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
