BondCraft Fabric v1.7.0
This update introduces three new desert monsters, the new Individual Records and Role systems, a major overhaul to Bond mob owner-follow behavior, improved Portal Residue generation, Starting Village improvements, and various gameplay and system refinements.
โจ Added
3 New Monsters
Added three new monsters to the desert:
- Dunemaw
- Voraflora
- Osshell
Each monster introduces its own combat behavior, passive ability, and role within a Bond team.
Dunemaw
Added Dunemaw, an Upper-class Insect-type SUPPORT monster.
- Immune to poison effects
- Melee attacks can inflict Slowness
- Improved melee range appropriate for its large body
- Sand Strider increases the owner's movement speed while standing on sand when Dunemaw is nearby
Voraflora
Added Voraflora, a stationary carnivorous plant found in the desert.
- Uses specialized stationary combat behavior
- Wild Voraflora can prey upon Osshell
- Feeding Ground restores HP when nearby mobs are defeated while bonded
- Remains stationary in NORMAL mode
- Can use Safe Teleport when necessary in FOLLOW mode
Osshell
Added Osshell, a Lower-class Insect-type SUPPORT monster.
- Wild Osshell does not actively attack players
- Can retaliate when attacked
- Can become prey for wild Voraflora
- Bone Shell reduces knockback received by the owner while Osshell is nearby
- Multiple Bone Shell effects do not stack with each other
๐ Individual Records System
Added individual records for Bond mobs.
Records include:
- Contract Date
- Active Time
- Kill Count
- Down Count
- Recovery Count
Records are stored individually for each Bond mob and persist across world saves.
Normal Evolution preserves existing records.
Fusion Evolution inherits records from the primary monster rather than combining records from all Fusion materials.
Existing Bond mobs remain compatible with the new system.
๐ท Role System
Added dedicated Roles for BondCraft monsters:
- TANK
- HEALER
- DPS
- DEBUFF
- SUPPORT
- AURA
Monsters can have a primary Role and, where appropriate, a secondary Role.
Roles are displayed in Bond mob information and can now be used as a filter in the Bond Manager.
Type and Role filters can also be combined.
๐งญ Owner Follow Improvements
Bond mob owner-follow behavior has received a major overhaul.
A new shared owner-follow system now handles movement and return behavior across BondCraft monsters while preserving specialized behavior where necessary.
Supported movement profiles include:
- GROUND
- FLYING
- STATIONARY
- VOLDIS_SPECIAL
Depending on distance and behavior mode, Bond mobs can now:
- Remain near the owner without unnecessary movement
- Follow normally
- Follow at increased speed
- Safely teleport back when too far away
Large monsters also account for their physical size when determining appropriate follow distances.
Behavior Modes
NORMAL
Bond mobs can participate in combat while maintaining appropriate owner-follow behavior.
FOLLOW
Prioritizes staying near the owner using normal follow, faster follow, and Safe Teleport when necessary.
STANDBY
Prevents automatic following, teleporting, navigation, and combat targeting.
โจ Safe Teleport
Owner-follow teleportation has been redesigned with additional safety checks.
Teleport destinations now validate:
- Loaded chunks
- World Border
- Block collision
- Entity collision
- Owner collision
- Fluids
- Ground support where required
- Full monster collision size
The system does not force-load chunks.
Ground, flying, stationary, and very large monsters use appropriate destination handling for their movement type.
Dominus: Voldis retains a dedicated follow profile designed for its large flying body.
๐ Portal Residue Improvements
Portal Residue generation has received a major distribution overhaul.
- Reduced overly uniform generation
- Added regional density variation
- Improved minimum spacing between Portal Residues
- Improved deterministic seed-based placement
- Improved terrain validation
- Improved structure protection
- Improved Starting Village protection
- Improved desert placement
- Improved chunk re-evaluation prevention
- No force-loading of surrounding chunks
Portal Residues can now appear with more natural regional variation instead of following overly consistent spacing across the world.
๐ Starting Village Improvements
Improved Starting Village placement and protection.
- Improved terrain validation
- Improved grass, tree, water, and available-space checks
- Improved fallback location searching
- Improved Portal Residue protection around the planned village area
- Improved NPC recovery behavior
- Various placement and stability improvements

- World backup is recommended before updating.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
