Crafting stages — 2026-05-09
Thanks to benio1394, a new feature is now available in Border Quest : the crafting stages !
Added
- Recipe locking: Lock specific item recipes behind configurable stages.
Each stage has an
unlockRecipeslist. Recipes are cumulative — at stage N, all recipes from stages 0 through N are unlocked. Covers crafting table, player inventory (2×2), furnace/blast furnace/smoker, and recipe book. - Dynamic versioning: Version is now set via git tags (
vX.Y.Z). Local builds use thegradle.propertiesfallback. - Separate branches per Minecraft version:
develop(main development),1.21.11(stable releases), plus future version branches. - CI workflows:
build.yml— compiles on every push/PR (all branches, no release).release.yml— triggered by tagsv*; builds, creates a GitHub Release, and publishes to Modrinth automatically.
- JAR naming: Includes both the mod version and the Minecraft version
(
border-quest-<mcversion>-<version>.jar). - AGENTS.md — instruction file for AI agents working in this repo.
Changed
- Build system: Replaced
build.batwith directgradlew.batcalls in CI. Removedbuild.batandinstall.bat. - Documentation: README updated with build instructions, branch strategy, and recipe locking documentation.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
