Details
Adds 5 new biomes to the Nether, and changes terrain generation there to have more varying density and 'erosion.' Vanilla biome placement is slightly changed to fit it.
General generation
(say that really fast ten times)
The bedrock ceiling is now 256 blocks up, but the nether generates as if it's been raised to about 192 blocks. There's another 256 blocks of free space above the ceiling, to build in.
Some parts of the nether will have lower overall density, with large empty lava seas and a chance of generating completely empty. Other parts can have higher density and sometimes even generate almost completely solid. (It might be annoying, sorry.)
Biomes
- Soul Sand Beaches (fancier name pending) usually appear in thin strips at the edge of low-density places, and are full of shrubs and washed-up stuff
- Molten Brackets, made from obsidian & smooth basalt, have taken over many low-density parts of the Nether
- Glaciers rarely generate in cold higher-density parts, covered in powder snow, packed ice, skeletons, and blue ice
- Flesh Gardens are spiky & chaotic & full of bone and fungi
- There's a weird Glowstone biome that i didnt really finish but it's rare and i think it looks good so it isnt a big deal i think ._.
Vanilla biome differences
- Nether Wastes tend to have more chaotic and spiky terrain, and can generate in both high- and low-density areas
- Basalt Deltas generate at medium and low density areas
Mod compatibility
Datapacks/mods that change the shape of Nether terrain or extend its height limit aren't compatible with this datapack. Ones that only add simple biomes to the Nether probably aren't compatible (try Biome Squisher?). Ones that change vanilla Nether biomes without altering the shape of the terrain should work though.
