Changes
Added
- Added optional Modern Clouds, a backport of Minecraft 1.21.6's updated cloud pattern and horizon-scale renderer.
- Uses circular coverage and a distance fade instead of ending at a visible square boundary.
- Uses the existing Cloud Distance setting and keeps the same physical range as the legacy renderer.
- Leaves custom dimension cloud renderers in control and falls back to the normal cloud path when the modern renderer cannot be used.
- Requires AssetMover 2.5 or newer to acquire the cloud texture. The option remains unavailable until both AssetMover and the texture are present.
- Added unit coverage for cloud range calculations, texture-cell classification, and modern cloud mesh generation.
Changed
- Raised the minimum Cleanroom Loader version to 0.6.0-alpha.
- Declared Cleanroom and Celeritas as required loader dependencies and AssetMover as an optional ordered dependency.
- Extended Cloud Scale from 0.25x through 4.00x; 1.00x remains the vanilla scale.
- Added a Default value to Cloud Height that follows the current dimension's cloud height instead of imposing a fixed height.
- New configurations enable Steady Debug HUD by default with a one-tick refresh interval. The interval can be adjusted from 1 to 20 ticks.
- Modern Clouds is independent of Celeritas's Use Faster Clouds option. When Modern Clouds is disabled, Celeritas's normal fast-cloud behavior is preserved.
- Reworked the star, particle, armor-stand, beacon-beam, item-frame-name, and rain-splash hooks to preserve more of the original rendering paths.
- Replaced per-frame object allocations in extended FPS statistics collection with reusable sample buffers.
- Updated the build configuration, UniMined 1.4.26-kappa, and Shadow 9.5.1 while retaining Java 25 as the target.
Fixed
- Made the cloud-pass projection and fog range account for the effective cloud distance, cloud scale, camera height, and current dimension's cloud height.
- Corrected Steady Debug HUD caching to target Minecraft 1.12.2's actual debug-overlay text providers and use monotonic refresh timing.
- Corrected screen-mode detection to read the live windowed, borderless, or fullscreen state instead of relying on cached state.
- Corrected the item-frame name-tag option to intercept the item frame's actual name-rendering path.
- Prevented a failed configuration load from saving a partially populated configuration over the existing file.
Removed
- Removed Hide HEI Until Searching, including its setting, Mixin, translations, JEI compile dependency, and optional-Mixin registration.
- Removed the Void Particles option.
- Removed the no-op CoreMod loading plugin and stopped registering the unused Access Transformer. Celeritas Extra now relies on its single Sponge Mixin configuration.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
