v1.8.1-Snapshot
The "Physics & Textures" Overhaul
This snapshot fully implements the Archetype Physics system and adds 100+ new block-specific textures!
🧪 The Four Archetypes (Fully Implemented)
Cubes now feature unique physics based on their absorbed block:
- ☁️ LIGHT (Woods/Wool): High bounce, low drag. Great for mobility.
- 🪨 REGULAR (Stone/Dirt): Standard, balanced Minecraft physics.
- 🏗️ HEAVY (Metals/Gems): Low bounce, high drag. Heavy "thud" landings.
- 🍯 STICKY (Honey/Honeycomb): Unique friction and stickiness logic.
🎨 Massive Texture Expansion
Sulfur Cubes now have custom textures for almost every block category:
🪵 Wood & Forestry
- Full Sets: Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, Mangrove, Cherry, and Pale Oak.
- Variants: Unique looks for Logs, Stripped Logs, Wood, and Planks.
- Special: Bamboo, Bamboo Mosaic, Crimson, and Warped support.
🧶 The Wool Collection
- All 16 colors of Wool now have dedicated Sulfur Cube textures.
🧱 Stone & Masonry
- Stone: Smooth Stone, Cobblestone, Mossy Cobblestone, and all Stone Brick variants.
- Gems & Metals: Quartz (Bricks, Pillars, Chiseled), Iron, Gold, Copper, Netherite, Diamond, Emerald, Lapis, Amethyst, and more.
🛠️ Technical Fixes
- Optimized Renderer: Switched to high-performance Pattern Matching for texture lookups.
- Impact Syncing: Fixed issues where bounce sounds and particles wouldn't trigger correctly on certain archetypes.
- Safety Patch: Implemented a vertical velocity cap to prevent infinite bounce loops.
⚠️ Note: This is a snapshot release. Please report any texture issues or physics bugs on the Github Issues!
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
