Chaos Cubed Content v1.9-SNAPSHOT
This major snapshot shifts our networking paradigm to drastically improve performance and player security.
π New Features
- Full Client-Side Friends List: Overhauled the friends layout to be entirely client-side. Game servers are no longer required to process your social interactions!
- Easy Local & Direct Hosting: Added native support for hosting worlds directly over your home network or via direct internet connections through our memory-only WebSocket network relay.
- Smart Skin Storage System: Player skins are now securely cached directly in our backend infrastructure.
- Fallback Handling: If a skin cannot be found in the backend, the client gracefully falls back to the Mojang API.
βοΈ Changes & Backend Upgrades
- Backend API Upgrade: Completely updated our custom backend API architecture to handle faster data syncs.
- π Severe Security Patch: Successfully patched a critical vulnerability that previously risked leaking player IP addresses. Your data is now fully anonymized through our socket system.
β οΈ Current Limitations
- Invite Only: The "Join World" feature is currently restricted. Players cannot request to join manually yet; you can only connect if you have been explicitly Invited by the host.
- Connection Constraints: Direct joining is currently limited to players on the same local home network or those using direct internet connection setups.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
