Chat Translation 1.0.4
Added
- Minecraft 26.3 support — new
26.3/fabricproject built with Gradle 9.6.0, Loom 1.17.21 and JDK 25, targeting Fabric Loader 0.19.5. - Built-in free
ai_freeprovider usingdeepseek-v4.1-flashonapi.mcapple.top. Works out of the box with no API key to fill in, and is now the default translation service. - Encrypted built-in credential — the bundled key is compiled into the JAR as AES-256-GCM ciphertext, with its passphrase stored obfuscated and reassembled at runtime. No plaintext key appears in the sources, config or logs.
- Configurable AI timeout (default 45s). Public endpoints can legitimately take tens of seconds to answer, so the previous hardcoded 20s deadline guaranteed failures on slower services.
Performance
- Translation cache — 512-entry LRU shared across providers. Repeated lines (greetings, server broadcasts) are served locally instead of hitting the network.
- Bounded concurrency with ordered display — up to 3 incoming requests run in parallel, and results are still shown in receive order. A single slow reply no longer stalls every message behind it.
- Shared HTTP client and worker pool — chat bursts reuse connections and keep-alive sockets instead of performing a fresh TLS handshake per line.
- Hot-path cleanups — removed regex
replaceAllfrom message handling, cached the per-player name patterns instead of recompiling them per message, and rewrote placeholder restoration as a single pass with O(1) token lookup. - Smarter retries — only 429, 408 and 5xx responses are retried. Previously any non-200 status was retried up to three times, which tripled the latency of permanent failures such as an invalid key or model.
Fixed
- Gradle Wrapper lost on fresh clones — the
gradle/ignore rule matches at any depth, so newly added projects had their wrapper excluded. Each project is now explicitly allowed, keepinggradlewusable after a clean checkout. - 26.2 failed to build under JDK 21 — the project now pins JDK 25 through
org.gradle.java.home, matching the other 26.x projects. Previously the build aborted with "release version 25 not supported". - 1.21.11 wrapper pointed at a missing file — its distribution URL referenced a
local
gradle-8.14-bin.zipthat was absent and excluded by.gitignore, sogradlewthrewFileNotFoundExceptionbefore ever reaching compilation.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
