Overview
This update adds a new Potion and a unique new Armor Set! It also marks the rebrand from "Alchemical Combat" to "Chemical Combat" because the mod has nothing to do with alchemy, and it should have been this way from the beginning.
Added Features
Chemist's Potion of Camouflage
Mostly used in Multiplayer combat to avoid and hide from Players. Differs from the standard, underwhelming invisibility by hiding Nametags and not showing Particles. Does not hide armor yet!
Stats
- Drink Mode: Drinks and becomes invisible for 1200 Ticks
- Throw Mode: Splashes and becomes invisible for a varying amount of time, depending on distance from splash
- Cooldown: 1500 Ticks
- Recipe: Brew Enrichment Powder into a Potion of Extended Invisibility

Amethyst Armor
A strong armor in and out of Chemical Combat. Often gives Absorption to make up for the lack of Armor Points. Especially strong against Magic Damage as Absorption blocks damage that armor can't.
Stats
- Armor Effect: 1/100 chance to give 20 Absorption Hit Points (HP) each tick per piece; 1/25 chance each tick in total.
- Armor Values: Helmet: 2 Armor, 0.25 Armor Toughness, 154 Durability. Chestplate: 4 Armor, 0.25 Armor Toughness, 224 Durability. Leggings: 4 Armor, 0.25 Armor Toughness, 210 Durability. Boots: 2 Armor, 0.25 Armor Toughness, 182 Durability.
- Enchantablity: 32
- Recipe: The standard armor recipes, but with Amethyst for each piece.
Developer Insight
- Invisibility is underwhelming, and Camouflage is a non-trivial upgrade. It is also planned to make Camouflage hide armor, which will immensely increase its viability.
- Amethyst Armor aims to fix how easy it is to damage yourself when using damaging potions by utilizing Absorption, which does the job armor can't do. While it seems competitively unbalanced because the Absorption gets replenished, through testing, I found that because the Absorption refresh is chance-based, it was entirely possible to die in many ways. Remember that complaints will be addressed (you can make them known on the Github page under Links), and the chance can always be decreased!
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
