Changes
Overview
This update fixes some issues with v0.7.0, balances some items, and adds new features, including the first melee weapon! Following the rebrand from "Alchemical Combat" to "Chemical Combat", all Chemist's Potions have been renamed "Solutions" (i.e., Chemist's Potion of Damage --> Damaging Solution and Chemist's Potion of Agility --> Agility Solution).
Added Features
Alteration Powder
Alteration Powder is the third powder in the mod, but this one, unlike Enrichment and Amplification Powder, is used to brew solutions that don't have vanilla potion equivalents.
Recipe
Crafting: Sugar 2x, Glow Inc Sac 1x, Pink Petals 1x

Static Solution
Unlike other effects, Static has both negative and positive effects. Static substantially lowers Attack Speed, but also increases Knockback Resistance. Due to this, Static can both assist and cripple friends and foes.
Stats
- Drink Mode: Drinks and lowers Attack Speed by 50% and increases Knockback Resistance by 20%
- Throw Mode: Splashes and lowers Attack Speed by 50% and increases Knockback Resistance by 20% for a varying amount of time, depending on distance from splash
- Cooldown: 600 Ticks
Recipe
Brewing: Alteration Powder (Top), Drowsiness Solution (Bottom)

Kinetic Daggers

The Kinetic Daggers are a complex pair of weapons with an adaptable moveset. While they can be used individually, they are most prominent when used together. From Knockback to Magic Damage (which goes through armor) to Lightning strikes, this electric duo can do it all!
Polarization

When hit with a Kinetic Dagger, one of the two Polarization effects will be applied, depending on the Dagger that was used.
Polarization (Plus)
- Applied on hit from a Kinetic Dagger (Plus)
- When an entity with Polarization (Plus) is hit with a Kinetic Dagger (Plus), the entity will be pushed back due to the like charges.
- When an entity with Polarization (Plus) is hit with a Kinetic Dagger (Minus), the entity will be struck by lightning due to the opposite charges.
Polarization (Minus)
- Applied on hit from a Kinetic Dagger (Minus)
- When an entity with Polarization (Minus) is hit with a Kinetic Dagger (Minus), the entity will be pushed back due to the like charges.
- When an entity with Polarization (Minus) is hit with a Kinetic Dagger (Plus), the entity will be struck by lightning due to the opposite charges.
Kinetic Dagger (Plus)
Stats
- Damage: 5 (Magic)
- Durability: 720
- Attack Speed: 2.4
- Push Force: 40%
- Lightning Damage: 7 (Clear), 10 (Rain), 20 (Thunder)
Recipe

Kinetic Dagger (Minus)
Stats
- Damage: 7 (Magic)
- Durability: 720
- Attack Speed: 2.4
- Push Force: 40%
- Lightning Damage: 5 (Clear), 7 (Rain), 14 (Thunder)

Changed Features
- Updated Amplification Powder texture
- Updated Enrichment Powder texture
Developer Insight (Powder Texture Changes)
The changes are small, but the colors now look more like a powder than a solid.
- Ender Pearls, Popped Chorus Fruit, and Enrichment Powder now correctly unlock the Amplification Powder recipe
- Glowstone Dust, Redstone Dust, Gunpowder, and Blaze Powder now correctly unlock the Enrichment Powder recipe
- Removed the text for Amplification Powder
- Added Chemist’s Armor and Chemist’s Weaponry as creative tabs
- Amethyst Armor nerfed to have a 1/110 chance per piece to give Absorption 5 instead of 1/100 per piece
- Amethyst Armor Absorption no longer overrides Absorption levels over 5
Developer Insight (Amethyst Armor Changes)
- The armor was too strong imo.
- In a scenario where the player has a higher level of Absorption than 5, the armor would reset it to 5. This was not intended.
- Camouflage Solution now actually turns entities invisible
Developer Insight (Camouflage Solution Change)
How did I miss this in the first place!?
- Changed the Damage effect to be categorized as "Harmful" instead of "Neutral"
- Damage Solution buffed to deal 6 Magic Damage rather than 5
Developer Insight (Damage Solution Change)
This doesn't change much against most mobs (besides one-shotting Bats, two-shotting Cave Spiders, and five-shotting Shulkers now, I guess). Still, it increases their effectiveness in PVP, specifically against players in the now nerfed Amethyst Armor.
- All Potion Effects now correctly display in the HUD
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
