Changes
v1.0.0 — Initial Release
Cobblemon True Pickup launches with the mainline-accurate walking mechanic as its core feature, plus optional extras for servers that want more control.
Added
- Walking Pickup (default, always on) — your lead party Pokémon has a chance to find an item every so often as you walk, matching how Pickup actually works in the mainline games.
- Optional post-battle Pickup — off by default. Adds a chance to find an item after winning a battle, applied to either all battle participants or just your lead, your choice.
- Optional "out of Poké Ball" requirement — restrict walking Pickup to only trigger while the Pokémon is actively out and following/riding, rather than just sitting in the party.
- Level-scaled odds — both walking and battle pickup chances can optionally increase slightly with the Pokémon's level, up to a configurable cap.
- Per-species loot tables — weighted, fully editable JSON pools per
species, with a
generic.jsonfallback for anything uncustomized. Ready-to-edit templates for every Pickup-capable species are generated automatically on first launch. - Config file —
config/truepickup.toml, generated with sensible defaults on first run. No setup required to get started.
Notes
- Server-side only — no client-side mod required.
- Built for Minecraft 1.21.1, Fabric, and Cobblemon 1.7.3.
- Inspired by Tim's Cobblemon Pickup mod; built as a from-scratch alternative for 1.7.3 with walking as the default trigger instead of battle-only.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
