Changes
[v0.2.1-b] - Balance Update: Punishing Negative Effects
This release significantly strengthens negative effects so overdose and withdrawal actually feel dangerous instead of minor inconveniences.
Major Changes
-
Organ Strain - Increased severity and frequency
- Damage: 1 heart → 3 hearts per tick (scales with overdose level)
- Frequency: 3x faster (every 0.75s instead of 2.5s)
- Health threshold: spares only last 0.5 hearts instead of last 2
-
Withdrawal - Now genuinely crippling
- Duration: 6s → 15s per tick
- Speed penalty: -20% → -40%
- Attack damage penalty: -20% → -40%
- Added -35% mining speed reduction
- Amplifier increased from 0 → 1
-
Overdose - Triggers sooner and lasts longer
- Organ strain threshold: 1.25x → 1.1x (kicks in earlier)
- Duration: 60 ticks → 180 ticks (9 seconds)
- Blackout threshold: 2.0x → 1.9x (slightly easier to trigger)
-
Positive Effects During Withdrawal - Diminished
- Compound buffs now reduce amplifier by 1 when you have withdrawal
- Overdose/organ strain completely blocks positive effects
Bug Fixes
-
Blister Pack Dose Counting - Fixed stacking issue
- Packs are now properly separated from stacks when used
- Prevents shared dose counts across multiple packs
- Example: A stack of 5 packs with 4 doses each now correctly maintains individual counts
-
Death Reset - Now fully clears UI
- Player death resets all doses, physiology, and effects
- Client-side HUD and screen overlays properly clear
-
System Clear Command - Enhanced
/pharma clearnow removes active effects (organ strain, withdrawal, confusion)- Sends client-side packets to clear visual effects and HUD
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
