0.2.8-beta — Sulfurous Capabilities
0.2.8 expands the thermochemical infrastructure introduced in Reactive Heat by giving sulfur a larger role in fuel production, heat generation, materials, and kinetic heat routing.
The update also improves backward compatibility and tightens the rules around which Create components are allowed to carry thermochemical heat.
Sulfur Burner
Added the Sulfur Burner, a new sulfur-based heat source designed to integrate directly with CSR's thermochemical infrastructure.
The Sulfur Burner expands sulfur beyond chemistry and crafting ingredients by giving it a direct role in industrial heat generation.
A dedicated Ponder scene has also been added to explain its operation.
New Sulfur Fuel Progression
Added:
- Sulfurous Fuel Compound
- Sulfur Fuel Briquette
These introduce a new sulfur-focused fuel progression and give sulfur additional industrial uses within CSR.
Brimstone Core
Added the Brimstone Core, a new sulfur-based progression component intended for advanced CSR recipes and machinery.
Tempered Ashesil
Added:
- Tempered Ashesil
- Tempered Ashesil Pane
Both variants are explosion resistant, providing a more durable building material for hazardous factory environments and high-risk machinery areas.
Thermochemical Cogwheels
Added:
- Thermochemical Cogwheel
- Large Thermochemical Cogwheel
These are now the dedicated cogwheel components for transmitting thermochemical heat through kinetic networks.
Heat Transmission Change
Regular Create cogwheels no longer transmit thermochemical heat.
This separates normal Create kinetic transmission from CSR's thermal infrastructure and makes heat-network construction more intentional.
Players must now use Thermochemical Cogwheels when heat needs to travel through cogwheel connections.
Compatibility
CSR 0.2.8 now supports:
- Create 6.0.7 and newer
- JEI 19.42.0.387
Backward compatibility with Create 6.0.7 has been confirmed.
Fixes and Polish
- Updated language files.
- Added proper translations for all advancements.
- Fixed JEI rendering issues.
- Improved compatibility and presentation across the new 0.2.8 systems.
0.2.8 is a focused expansion of the thermochemical foundation introduced in 0.2.7, with more sulfur functionality and clearer separation between standard Create kinetics and CSR heat transmission.
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
