Changes
Two months since 1.2.0. Was there a good reason for the wait? Nope, just plain laziness. But I finally got around to it, and it was worth it.
New Stuff
- In-Game Config Screen (
ModConfigScreen). Too many slimeballs? Not enough TNT? Now you can tell the mod exactly how chaotic you want your server to be. Everything is split into 6 neat categories. - Tweak (Almost) Everything. Party size, hand-over and pull reach, cooldowns for potatoes, slimeballs and TNT, boss health scaling and its cap, which items can go on your head (banners, feathers, decorative blocks, candle grouping up to 4), the typing indicator, nickname color rewards and chat emojis. Every mechanic also gets an on/off switch, so you can turn off whatever annoys your friends the most.
- Health Sharing. Sacrifice a bit of your own health to heal a teammate. Amount and cooldown are configurable. Yes, this is what real friendship looks like.
- Full config translations in English, Russian and Ukrainian.
Changed
/partynow respects the "Enable Party System" option. If the party system is disabled, the command tells you so.- Values that used to be hardcoded (max party size, throw cooldowns, interaction reach) now come from the config.
Technical & Boring (But Important) Stuff
- Config Storage (
ModConfig): Settings are saved toconfig/donidins_fun_with_friends.json. Note that gameplay logic runs on the server, so the server's config is the one that counts. - New Dependency: The config screen is built with YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) 3.8.2 or newer, and it is now required. Don't forget to install it!
- Architectural Refactoring:
ModEntitiesmoved from theentitypackage toinit, next to the other registries.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
