Changelog
The mod formerly known as NerdSoft Kitchen is now Dice & Delish! New mod ID (dice_and_delish), new item group, new banner and branding. This is a rename, not a fork - see the note at the bottom for what that means for existing worlds.
A major content update centered on food prep and cooking variety, plus a new performance system.
New Blocks
- Cutting Board - place a cuttable ingredient, then cut it with knives
- Skillet - fries eggs solo or turns them into Potato/Purple Onion Tortillas when a cut ingredient is added mid-cook; can be filled with raw egg liquid via the Iron Cup
- Rice crop (+ wild variant)
New Items
- Full knife line: Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Obsidian (new tier), Netherite Knife
- Cheese, Cheese Slice, Cheese Sandwich (raw & toasted), Grilled Cheese
- Sandwich Bread (raw & toasted)
- Cut Potato, Cut Purple Onion
- Tortilla, Potato Tortilla, Purple Onion Tortilla
- Rice, Rice Bowl, Cooked Rice
- Egg Liquid Iron Cup content
New Recipes
- Cutting Board: dicing raw chicken, slicing cheese, cutting potato and purple onion
- Grill: toasted sandwich bread, grilled cheese, toasted cheese sandwich, cooked rice bowl
- Skillet: fried egg, potato tortilla, purple onion tortilla
- Iron Cup: draw and pour back raw egg liquid via the Skillet
Grill Table Relighting
- Extinguishing a lit Grill or Soul Grill (water, or a Shovel at 1 durability) now leaves behind a proper Unlit Grill/Unlit Soul Grill block instead of just going dark - relight it in place with Flint and Steel, a Fire Charge, or a flaming arrow, or craft it fresh with Blaze Powder (add Soul Sand/Soil to relight as Soul instead)
Performance
- New internal LOD (level of detail) system - Grill Table and Cutting Board render at reduced detail past configurable chunk-distance tiers, easing load in large builds and farms
Audio/Visual
- Cutting Board and Skillet block entity renderers, with sizzle looping audio for both
- New Hot Skillet danger state - stepping on a hot Skillet burns the offending entity/player
Advancements
- Expanded advancement tree covering cutting, grilled cheese, tortillas, each crop harvest, knives, and a new capstone "Gourmet Chef" advancement for completing every discipline (farming, cutting, grilling, dairy)
JEI
- Added explicit category sort ordering
- Fixed recipes silently failing to register with JEI on some launches - the mod's own recipe categories now reliably show up after loading into a world
Localization
- All new blocks, items, advancements, and JEI descriptions translated in both English and Spanish
Internal / Refactors
- The old Curdle recipe type (
CurdleRecipe/CurdleRecipeInput) was removed and yogurt/strawberry-yogurt transformations are now handled through the mixing/cup-crafting recipe types instead - New
ModBlockTagsandModTiersregistries (the latter backing the new Obsidian tool tier) - Mod ID changed from
nerdsoftkitchentodice_and_delish; package changed fromcom.nerdsoft.mods.nerdsoftkitchentocom.panzer.mods.dice_and_delish
⚠️ Existing worlds: because the mod ID and every registry name changed along with the rename, blocks/items placed under 0.3.0 will not migrate automatically - back up your world before updating, and expect to need a re-registration/rename data fix (or to start fresh) if you're carrying a save forward.
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
