Drag Things — v0.5.0 Changelog
Added
Smoother & Better Feel
-
Added smoother grabbing with a gradual force buildup instead of instantly pulling items.
-
Drag distance adjustments now feel more natural with smooth scrolling.
-
Items now have improved movement effects:
- Adaptive bobbing that changes depending on speed.
- Squash & Stretch effects when moving and hitting surfaces.
- Camera FOV shake on strong impacts (does not affect aiming).
-
Dragged items that get stuck now smoothly catch up instead of teleporting.
-
Added a new Feel config category to customize the intensity of these effects.
Mob Drag
You can now drag mobs!
-
Sneak + right-click a mob with an empty hand to pick it up.
-
Grabbable mobs show a glowing outline when you look at them.
-
Mobs smoothly shrink into an item-like form while being grabbed.
-
Mobs become their spawn egg icon when fully picked up (or use a 3D model fallback if unavailable).
-
While being carried:
- Mobs cannot move or attack.
- Mobs are temporarily protected from damage.
-
Added a new Mob Drag config category:
- Enable/disable mob dragging.
- Toggle passive, neutral, hostile, and boss mobs.
- Customize allowed or blocked entities.
-
Chains, trails, and the distance HUD now support mobs too.
-
Scroll to change the carrying distance of mobs, just like items.

Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
