Changes
0.2.1
A lil more creepiness, a bunch of fixes, and one very important cat.
- Lone Theatre has a couple more adjustments made. Enjoy the movie :)
- Dreamspaces actually reset between visits again. Breaking blocks, leaving, and immediately coming back now restores the original map. Turning on Prevent Dreamspaces From Resetting still keeps your progress.
- Got the release JARs down from 777 MB+ to around 328–330 MB with lossless world compression. All the authored maps and assets are kept.
- Extracted templates are cached for repeat visits. Bigger maps can take a lil while on their first load. That cache stays clean, player edits belong to the playable world.
- Fixed reality slips leaving you sinking through the floor while a map was still loading. The map now gets ready first, then the phasing starts. Cancellation and void-fall protection work during the wait too.
- Nightmares now keep you asleep while their map prepares. You can still leave the bed to cancel.
- Nosi's config has actual names now. Added labels and tooltips for all 123 entries, including distortion, behavior weights, the book finale, and laughter settings.
- Added
/dreamshift debug nightmareto arm a nightmare for your next successful bed sleep.
0.2.0
Missed the last update? Here's the catch-up.
New Dreamspaces
- Added Remembered Home, Unauthorized Chime, Sundew Ln, Residence of the Clouds, SKIEZONE, Along the Way, and Silk Circus.
- Added Forgotten Home, Bloomed Gap, Road to Serenity, and Pastel Longevity. These have their own ways in, so you'll have to find them through encounters and other Dreamspaces.
- Added Delphic Horize and Static Ave, which can be reached while sleeping.
- Added TANGER RING, with entrances that can be found above ground and underground in newly generated Overworld terrain.
Encounters & Exploration
- Expanded Motel Treats.
- Expanded Retired Wish.
- Expanded Lone Theatre.
- Extended The Ungate and Whirl Gap.
- Added more Dreamspace music, and kept Worry separate for Along the Way.
Sleeping
- Sleeping in a bed can now send you into a nightmare instead of skipping straight to morning. Added an eyelid effect as you drift into the dream.
- Added Nightmare Chance per Sleep to the config, so you can change how often this happens or disable it.
Fixes
- Balanced multiplayer Reality Slippages with one shared server timer and chance roll. More players no longer multiply natural spawns, and successful spawns reset the timer for everyone.
- Fixed Journey's Station and Route 66 being left out of regular slips & slippages. Both can now be reached normally again.
- Fixed slippage portals sometimes staying visible after they had closed, leaving an opening you couldn't enter or remove.
- Fixed duplicate slippage portals and old portals coming back when their chunks loaded again.
- Fixed Instant LN Observers spawning inside blocks, hovering above the ground, and hitting players too far above them.
- Fixed Instant LN window encounters using a house you'd already left. Areas without a roof also no longer count as being indoors.
- Fixed Instant LN jumpscares sometimes not playing after switching saves without restarting Minecraft.
- Fixed singleplayer worlds sometimes failing to load after visiting a Dreamspace and switching saves.
- Fixed some Dreamspace attacks not waking players up properly.
Forge Multiplayer Stability
- Prevented empty Immersive Portals global updates from creating client worlds and renderers for unrelated, unvisited dimensions whenever a new Dreamspace is registered. This addresses the allocation burst observed alongside multiplayer disconnections.
- Fixed a dimension-ID synchronization race between packet decoding and the client thread. Removed the fallback that silently dropped portal updates with unknown dimension IDs, Immersive Portals still owns full dimension synchronization.
- Replaced the fixed five-tick portal wait with installation readiness checks. Portals now require fully installed destinations, and retired Dreamspaces are no longer considered ready merely because their dimensions remain registered.
- Hardened Dreamspace cleanup to preserve active references and retry requests when a clear cannot finish. Authored portal references are removed before their destination data is invalidated, and duplicate dimension-removal requests are avoided.
- Added thread checks, targeted lifecycle diagnostics, regression tests, and an optional headless Forge lifecycle test. Runtime Dreamspace creation, per-world instances, seamless slippages, and cross-dimensional rendering remain supported.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
