Changes
Added
- Elevation caret. A small up or down caret now appears beside an arc on the ring, and next to the direction pointer in the subtitle panel, when a sound comes from more than 3 blocks above or below you.
- Fade-in. New arcs and subtitle rows ease in over 120 ms instead of snapping onto the screen. A source that keeps retriggering fades in only once.
- Confirmation for "Reset all overrides". The button on the per-sound screen now needs a second click within 3 seconds, since overrides are built one sound at a time and cannot be undone.
Changed
- Edge pulse is now an even vignette on all four sides of the screen. The left and right edges used to be flat bars at a different strength.
- Crowded HUD keeps what matters. When more sounds are active than the HUD can hold, the least severe are dropped first. Previously the oldest went first, so a burst of footsteps could push out a creeper fuse.
Fixed
- Monochrome palette was not monochrome. The ring and the subtitle panel stayed fully coloured whichever palette was selected. Monochrome now uses greys only, everywhere.
- Rare crash when choosing a sound's colour, triggered by sound ids with one specific hash value.
- Jukeboxes could drop off the HUD when enough hidden looping sounds (cave ambience, minecarts) were playing at the same time.
- A record started while EchoSight was toggled off did not appear after turning it back on.
- Changing the system clock (or a daylight-saving step) could expire every ping at once or freeze them on screen.
- Long subtitles could run past the left edge of the screen when the panel font scale was above 1.0.
- Footer buttons on the per-sound screen ran off both edges in narrow windows or at a large GUI scale.
Performance
- Sound capture no longer waits on the renderer for every sound played.
- The subtitle panel no longer rebuilds its text every frame.
- Ring arcs are drawn with far fewer matrix operations, and the ring allocates nothing per arc.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
