Enhanced-vq 0.9.6 — Minecraft 26.3 Compatibility
A compatibility release: the mod moves from Minecraft 26.2 to 26.3 ("Wilderness Bound"). No changes were made to the existing quest progression or rewards — the goal was to keep everything that already existed working as expected on the new game version.
⚠️ This version requires Minecraft 26.3. If you're still on 26.2, stay on 0.9.5.
🔧 Update to 26.3
- Minecraft 26.3: the mod now declares
~26.3as its supported version. - Fabric Loader 0.19.5 and Fabric API 0.160.5+26.3 as minimums.
- Java requirement unchanged: Java 25.
⌨️ Quest book keyboard input
Minecraft 26.3 replaced GLFW with SDL for window and input handling, and with that change the internal key codes now hold different values. The book had them hardcoded, so on 26.3 they would have stopped responding:
- ESC during the tutorial: the tutorial's emergency exit works again.
- ↑ / ↓ arrow keys: keyboard scrolling in the quest list and the Bestiary works again.
Both now use Minecraft's own keyboard constants instead of hardcoded values, so they won't break again if the game switches backends another time.
📦 Quest chest
- Updated the chest's loot table to 26.3's new data pack format (version 121.0). Without this fix the chest could drop nothing when broken.
🌿 Flora & Fauna — ALPHA
A new section of Enhanced Vanilla Quests begins with the introduction of Flora & Fauna.
This is an early ALPHA feature and is not yet complete. It introduces the foundation for a new collection of quests focused on Minecraft's natural world, with more content planned for future updates.
🌸 Flora
- Added quests covering the vanilla flowers found throughout Minecraft.
- Introduces the first part of the new Flora quest progression.
🐾 Fauna
- Added quests for friendly and non-hostile mobs.
- Introduces the first part of the new Fauna quest progression.
⚠️ Flora & Fauna is currently in ALPHA. Some quests, progression, and content are still being developed and expanded. Additional plants, creatures, quests, and related content will be added in future updates.
🛠️ Internal
- Build toolchain updated to Gradle 9.6.0 and Fabric Loom 1.17, the versions Fabric recommends for 26.3.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
