MAJOR UPDATE!
After 9 entire months of waiting, (part 1) of the Entomophobia "HOME SWEET HOME" update is OUT! This update adds a LOT of new content, reworks some old content, and attempts to get this infection mod to actually function like an infection mod.
NEW MECHANIC: SWARMS Myiatics can now swarm. They randomly select a leader off of who has the highest HP, and the rest of the myiatics follow the leader. Different types of swarms can exist, each with their own unique goals.
- NEST SWARMS: These swarms' goal is to collect more members, until they reach a specific count. Then, they will create a Nest (see below)
- HUNT SWARMS: These swarms' goal is to hunt. They run around the world, killing mobs to amass more units.
- ATTACK SWARMS: These swarms' goal is to hunt down a specific target. Currently this swarm is under heavy W.I.P. and can only be used as an immediate response to an invader in the nest, but future raid mechanics are planned (akin to the raid mechanics seen in Sculk Horde)
NEW MECHANIC: NESTS Once the myiatics get strong enough, they will attempt to build a nest. A massive sprawlling underground labryinth of flesh, these living constructs slowly expand beneath the ground, growing in size and mass. Within the center of the nest lies the Hive Heart, a massive beating heart that keeps the nest alive. Proceed with caution, the myiatics do not like intruders.
NEW TIER OF MOB: PEST Pest mobs join the fray! A new tier of mob, these resemble larger variants of bugs (Grubs, Centipedes, Cockroaches, etc.) Low HP, Low Armor, but enough damage to pose a threat, they exist to overwhelm their target in numbers. These can be found within nests, attempting to consume any intruders.
REWORKS: A lot of things have been reworked, too much to count. Most potion effects have been reworked (Myiasis now spawns pests upon a mob without a myiatic form rotting, Neurointoxication now jumbles your healthbar but doesn't hurt you anymore). Some systems have been tweaked, some performance boosts have been made. Truthfully this update is too large to put everything within one changelog. Oops :/
NEW BLOCKS AND ITEMS A lot of new blocks and items have been added with varying utility and purpose. Most items will get crafting recipes eventually, however that might not come for a while
FUTURE PLANS This update was rushed, despite taking over 9 months. This is merely part 1 of HOME SWEET HOME. I plan on expanding this update further with some minor updates, however over the summer, updates will be slow. Next major update, 1.2.x, will be The More the Merrier!, which will expand myiatic-related systems further, rework most myiatics, and add new infected forms.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
