Every object redrawn
All 256 icons are drawn again in one style: light from the top left, no black outline, and each one is drawn to look like the real object.
- Stars are coloured by their spectral class and sized by brightness. Doubles show both stars (Albireo is gold and blue), supergiants are discs, TRAPPIST-1 has its seven planets.
- Jupiter has the Great Red Spot, Saturn the Cassini gap, Pluto the heart, and Uranus lies on its side.
- Exoplanets get their measured colours where they're known: HD 189733 b is cobalt blue, GJ 504 b is magenta.
- Nebulae and galaxies look like their famous photos, the Pillars of Creation, the Horsehead, Andromeda almost edge-on.
- Sgr A* and M87* look like the Event Horizon Telescope images. LGM-1 is the pulse plot off the Unknown Pleasures cover.
Sky
- Stars twinkle, more near the horizon. Planets don't.
- Small bright objects (stars, pulsars, quasars) get a soft glow in their own colour.
- Low in the sky everything is dimmer and redder, like through real air.
- Comet icons no longer have a painted tail. The game draws the tail along the path the comet actually moves, same as the fireballs.
Viewfinder
- Lock brackets snap onto the target. Under them a card shows the object's icon, name, type and tier, and a signal meter fills as you centre it.
Screens, blocks and lenses
- The Analyzer has its own screen instead of the grey vanilla box. Wooden frame like the block, and the photo slot sits in a starry window.
- The Cosmic Album looks like an actual book now, with a purple leather cover and paper pages.
- The Night Analyzer got the same frame and a dark console screen.
- Both analyzer blocks are redrawn. While a photo is being analyzed the screen on top lights up with a star in the crosshair and a spectrum.
- Telescopic lenses are redrawn to match Exposure's own gear: grey barrel, round glass. You tell the tier by the glass.
Fixes
- The Fabric version loaded with any Exposure version, but it needs 1.9+ (on 1.8 the attachment slots broke). It now asks for 1.9+.
Nothing in your world changes, studied entries keep their progress.
Requires Exposure 1.9+ and Architectury. Dedicated servers fine, same jar both sides.
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
