Update Description / Changelog
ExtraModly - Auto Tool Swap has received a major update and is now much smarter, more convenient, and more flexible to use.
What's Been Added
Added automatic tool switching for:
- Pickaxe — for stone, ore, and other matching blocks
- Axe — for wood and wooden blocks
- Shovel — for dirt, sand, gravel, and similar blocks
- Shears — for wool and leaves
Added best tool selection
- The mod no longer just grabs the first matching item
- It now selects the higher-quality tool based on priority:
- Netherite
- Diamond
- Iron
- Gold
- Stone
- Wood
Added smart behavior without unnecessary switching
- If the player already has the correct tool selected, the mod won't switch slots unnecessarily
Added protection against using nearly broken tools
- The mod tries to avoid using items with very low remaining durability
Added Creative mode setting
- You can now enable or disable the mod's functionality in Creative mode
Settings System
- Added a separate settings menu
- In the settings, you can enable and disable:
- The entire mod
- Sound
- HUD indicator
- Creative mode functionality
- Auto-switching for pickaxe
- Auto-switching for axe
- Auto-switching for shovel
- Auto-switching for shears
Controls
- Added a dedicated keybind to toggle Auto Tool Swap on and off
- Added a dedicated keybind to open the settings menu
Visual and Audio Improvements
- Added an ON/OFF message at the bottom of the screen when enabling or disabling the mod
- Added a lever sound effect when toggling the mod's state
- Added a HUD indicator showing whether the mod is active or not
Settings Saving
- Added configuration saving to a file
- All selected settings are now saved and automatically loaded after restarting the game
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
