Forgotten Places Update
Version 0.3.0 adds atmospheric torch generation to abandoned and ancient structures.
Forgotten places can now contain a mix of lit, extinguished, and dormant smoldering torches. These locations feel like they once had life and light, but now only the remains of the past are left behind.
Added
- Forgotten Places world generation support
- Lit, extinguished, and dormant smoldering torches in selected structures
- Dormant Embers as atmospheric environmental torches
- Support for abandoned-style lighting in ancient and ruined locations
Affected Structures
- Abandoned mineshafts
- Dungeons
- Strongholds
- Desert pyramids
- Jungle temples
- Trail ruins
- Ruined portals
- Ancient cities
Villages are not affected and keep their normal vanilla lighting.
Notes
- Mostly affects newly generated chunks and structures
- Existing generated structures may not update automatically
- Dormant smoldering torches are intended for atmosphere and storytelling
- The existing extinguish, smolder, and relight mechanics remain unchanged
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
