Changes
Ray Tracing on Metal
- Hardware ray traced sun and moon shadows for terrain on Mac
- Named ray tiers a pack can read, and a ray_query pass type for a pack's own rays
- Rays carry a block's tint and light in the hit record
- Tracing runs only when something reads the result, with GPU timing on each phase
Camera
- Aperture jitter for true depth-of-field stills: parked, the projection looks through a different point of a real lens each frame while the focused subject stays pixel-fixed
- Focus comes from a 512-block look along the view, and reported jitter is only what was applied, which also fixes a swim under TAAU and frame generation
Voxel Light
- Entity occluders and exact partial block shapes
- Block models off the 1/16 grid read correctly
- Mesh edits run on their own worker instead of Sodium's meshing thread
- blocks.toml can turn a block off as a light source
Graph and Speed
- Waits only for the compute work that blocks the next pass
- Sampler choice, parsed gates and fixed name lists are worked out once, not every frame
- A compute pass can read this frame's images in draw order
Tools
- Deploy verifies the jar and reconciles the launcher index
- Frame profile dump on a key, with capture tools and GPU timing on the mesh trace
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
