π¦ FreshInk β Update 2.0 for Minecraft 26.3
Note : This version is for Minecraft 26.3 only (data pack format 121). For 26.1 β 26.2, keep using FreshInk 1.2.
β General Changes:
-
Ported to Minecraft 26.3: loot tables, villager trades and predicates rewritten for the new 26.3 data pack format.
-
Explorer maps are now distinct items in 26.3 (Jungle Pyramid Map, Swamp Hut Map, Ocean Monument Map, Buried Trial Chambers Map, Woodland Mansion Map, and the five village maps). Sealed maps and freshly charted maps now use them, so icons and names match vanilla exactly.
-
Existing cartographers are supported: villagers that had already unlocked map offers (Expert, Master...) are converted automatically. Within 5 seconds of being loaded, any offer selling an already-charted vanilla map becomes a sealed map. Price, remaining uses and XP of the offer are kept.
-
Added a duplicate-destination guard: the pack remembers every destination it has handed out. If the game returns a place that was already sold (can happen when several maps are bought within the same second on some modded setups), the map is discarded and charted again from another spot 2 seconds later, so two maps never point to the same place.
-
Added a one-time "[Fresh Ink] v2.0 for Minecraft 26.3 is active" message when you join the world, so you can tell at a glance that the pack is loaded.
-
Upgrading from 1.x: nothing to do. Sealed maps bought under 1.x, whether still in a chest or still offered by an old cartographer, are recognised and exchanged as usual.
π οΈ Fixes & Notes:
-
Ocean monument and trial chambers trade files now follow the new vanilla 26.3 file names, so the vanilla offers are properly replaced.
-
Added a Troubleshooting section (EN/FR) to the README: if any other data pack fails to load on 26.3, the game opens the world in Safe Mode and disables every pack, Fresh Ink included. Check
logs/latest.logfor "Failed to parse ... from pack file/..." and update or remove that pack. -
World restart still required after installation (trade changes only load at world startup); the "experimental settings" warning is normal.
