Changes
Galacticube 2.0
A major release that consolidates everything since the 2.0 alpha into one big update: planets, rockets, survival systems, structures, visuals, and dozens of fixes.
Ship constructor & rockets
- Ship constructor (NASA-style workbench): nose cone, 6 hull panels, fins, fuel tanks, and engine craft Rockets Mk I-IV in the output slot
- Part items: nose cone, stabilizer, fuel tank, engine (crafted on a normal crafting table)
- Tiers Mk I-IV by hull materials (red panels / lunar iron / martian iron / titanium + uranium)
- Rockets are no longer crafted on a normal crafting table - constructor only
- Schematic hints for Mk I-IV, ghost items in empty slots, tooltips for parts and recipes
- Rocket models: Ad Astra-style Java entity models (MIT geometry) with original 128x128 skins
- Classic rocket item kept with the older block model
- Fixed levitating rocket parts (mirror flag reset); Tier 4 side pods render again; pad seating matches entity transforms
- Rocket hitbox is one invisible 2x2x5.5 entity (multipart
rocket_hitboxblocks removed) - Clearer launch failure messages; camera no longer locks yaw/pitch while flying
Planets, sky & map
- Custom skies across Galacticube worlds (
GalacticSkyRenderer): black vacuum, stars, sun; moons show their parent planet - Moon sky: Earth high in the sky (not in the vanilla moon slot); vanilla-style starfield
- Venus: amplified terrain with lava seas, calderas, ridges (new chunks / new world recommended)
- Galactic map: orbits spaced so planets don't overlap; zoom fits outer worlds; Moon always drawn near Earth
- Shader clouds on alien worlds fixed for Iris/Sodium (
galacticube:vacuum, no volumetric overworld clouds) - Sun position / satellite fixed-time fixes; map no longer clips past Saturn
Survival (Mars foundation)
- Battery and oxygen tank with NBT indicators
- Space suit: oxygen + energy on Mars; no energy -> oxygen fails; helmet damage; night cold
- Dust storms on Mars (server-synced intensity, client dust render)
- Detailed spacesuit item icons
Structures & mobs
- Lunar Sanctum on the Moon (crater temple, nave, chapels, arena with Selene Guardian)
- Abandoned lunar base and abandoned Mars outpost with loot for rocket progression
- Sanctum pathing/spawn fixes; no worldgen deadlock from spawning bosses during generation
- Dungeon bosses and guards: new textures/models (monster-style bosses, zombie-based guards)
- Mob textures refreshed (soft shading, unique palettes)
Worldgen & landing fixes
- Empty sky after rocket teleport: aligned dimension heights, force-load landing chunk, surface heightmap (or platform)
- Far-chunk
setBlockspam fixed (moon cracks, Venus features) - Mercury crypt / chunk generation hardening; separate dimension types for outer bodies
- Procedural block textures for many planetary stones/dusts/ices
Items & crafting visuals
- Ingots and ores recolored/layered like vanilla
- Tools, swords, spears, and armor recolored per metal (lunar, titanium, nickel, uranium, martian)
Tech notes
- Minecraft 1.20.1 | Fabric | Fabric API required
- Official release version: 2.0

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
