Granules
A mod with a lot of small things
Granules
granule: noun; "a small particle, grain, or little piece of a substance."
Granules, definitively, is a mod about a lot of little things; though, like all little things, they're only little relative to what they may be, be it a little transportation, a little enchantment, or even a little ore, all of which can vary from player to player. As such, it adds a little new content to flavor your experience.
Contents
- Multibiome World Type: Single Biome too strict, default too broad? Select a Multibiome world to get a catered selection going for yourself.
- Loading Optimization: Granules provides the option to temporarily prefer chunk updates directly around you during sustained chunk loading rather than loading every single one at once, hopefully allowing for smoother performance.
- Enhanced Workstations: Enchanted Tomes can be found in most "loot chamber"-type structures; monster rooms and strongholds being the biggest examples. They can be used to enhance the abilities of most workstations, both to improve them and bring them up to speed with others... included in this category would also be implementation for specialized arrows with the Fletching Table.
- Lesser Items: For the rarer crowd of mobs, like endermen and phantoms, it can be hard to get drops reliably; that said, the way you interact with them hasn't changed, but you should be seeing profits through lesser versions of their existing drops, which can be compressed or traded into their superior forms.
- The Old World: Around the stronghold annulus, you'll find rarer, chancier items and opportunities for expansion and enhancement of your current gameplay, especially through Old World Roses and Cod, which are both very powerful ingredients.
- Redstone Contraptions: Not a lot of new redstone stuff, but I think what I've added should be sufficient... Movers are the most notable feature that interacts with redstone, able to move sort of like a "wireless minecart", both horizontally and vertically. Click them together, call them across the route, or send them to your friends.
This isn't all the major content that Granules adds, but consider taking it out for a spin and trying out its features for yourself :-) The mod also adds a lot of enchantments, brewing recipes, and miscellaneous quality-of-life recipes that can improve the vanilla experience. If you don't want to play with any major content, you can also choose to ban it from appearing in your world more than it already has.
Complements
While not mods I've made, I'd recommend using them alongside Granules for a fuller experience:
- Chunky: This mod has saved my computer countless times over the last month.
- Enchantment Descriptions: While not up to date with 26.2 (as of writing this), there is support implemented for it.
- Roughly Enough Items: Just a good mod generally. Very helpful when Minecraft's existing recipe book is not.
- Jade: Just for identifying certain things! I'm not the best explainer or gameplay presenter, so if you need more help than a recipe browser is willing to provide, you'll see a bit more identification here.
Claimer
Granules contains absolutely zero AI-generated content, and never will contain it.
Optional dependencies
Known incompatibilities
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
