Grenadier 1.0.5
Initial public CurseForge release for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.
Client Rendering Dependency
Volumetric smoke requires Veil on the client.
Install either:
- A compatible standalone version of Veil, or
- Sable, when its distribution already includes a compatible Veil build.
Do not install a duplicate standalone Veil copy when it is already provided by Sable. Dedicated servers do not require Veil or Sable.
Added
- Smoke grenades with dyeable identification bands and matching volumetric smoke.
- Incendiary grenades with persistent, surface-aware fire fields.
- Distance-, direction-, and obstruction-aware flashbang effects.
- Timed fragmentation grenades with normal self-damage.
- Contact-fused impact grenades.
- Freely deployable anti-personnel mines.
- Forward-facing directional fragmentation mines.
- Throwable thermite mines with an armor-piercing initial burst and a short upward flame spray.
- Projectile-triggered mine detonation, including vanilla arrows and compatible gun projectiles.
- Reusable signal beacons with dyeable smoke colors.
- Configurable damage, radius, fuse, restitution, smoke density, duration, armor penetration, mine triggers, and heavy-target bonuses.
Improved
- Grenades now launch from the player's hand instead of the camera position.
- Anti-personnel mines trigger only when a target steps directly over them.
- Deployed mines use entity-based free placement instead of being locked to block centers.
- Mine collision and selection boxes now match their visual size more closely.
- Incendiary fields can remain active on leaves, paths, stairs, and other non-full blocks.
- Smoke descends more naturally after elevated detonations and expands toward the ground.
- Added optional compatibility for smoke deployment on moving Sable physical structures.
- Reworked grenade, mine, projectile, and signal-beacon models, UVs, textures, and inventory transforms.
- Added a new Minecraft-style project logo.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.228 or newer
- Java 21
- Veil 4.1.4–5.0.0 on the client
Grenadier must be installed on both the client and server. Veil is only required for client-side rendering.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
