Hallowed 1.0.0: The First Hallowed Night
Supported platforms: Minecraft 26.3 (Fabric, NeoForge) · Java 25 · Fabric API on Fabric
The first release.
Hallowed Nights
- From October 15 to November 5 every night is a Hallowed Night; the rest of the year, one full moon in four. Seasonal, always, full moons only or manual, in the config.
- A violet sky, fog and light, a swollen orange Harvest Moon, drifting embers and autumn leaves, and owls, wind, chimes and whispers. A banner at dusk.
- The Witching Hour (midnight to 3 AM): twelve tolls of a bell, a banner, a vignette, and twice the spirits.
- Zombies and skeletons spawn in costume: carved pumpkins and lit jack o'lanterns with the new faces.
Trick-or-treating
- Treat Pail: hold it out to a villager or wandering trader on a Hallowed Night. Treats go into the pail; a costume on your head earns more and makes treats likelier.
- Six harmless tricks, each one switchable: bat burst, pumpkin head, levitation, spook, vanishing act and sticky fingers.
Candy
- Eight candies: Candy Corn, Caramel Apple, Ghost Gummy, Pumpkin Truffle, Witch's Lollipop, Bat Wing Licorice, Eyeball Jawbreaker and Soul Toffee, each with its own effect.
- Sugar Rush stacks into Sugar Rush II, then a Sugar Crash. New effects: Sugar Rush, Sugar Crash, Spooked and Spirit Ward.
- Monsters killed on a Hallowed Night drop candy, costumed ones always.
Carved faces
- Shears carve eight faces into any pumpkin (sneak to go back); a torch lights it, a soul torch makes a Soul Jack o'Lantern. 24 wearable blocks.
- Lit jack o'lanterns, vanilla ones included, keep spirits away within 12 blocks (soul ones 20).
Spirits and will-o'-the-wisps
- Spirits swoop through walls on Hallowed Nights and leave you Spooked. They drop Ectoplasm and fade at dawn.
- Will-o'-the-wisps lead you to a Hallowed Cache. Cursed (violet) wisps lead into an ambush with a better cache.
The Hollow Horseman
- Wake a Cursed Pumpkin at the Witching Hour and the Horseman rises: a two-phase boss with his own boss bar and banners.
- Mounted: scythe sweeps, flaming jack o'lanterns, and charges you can stun against a wall. On foot below half health: he calls spirits and throws his own burning head.
- Drops the Reaper Scythe (Reap harvests and replants crops around you) or the Horseman's Head (Night Vision and Spirit Ward), Ectoplasm, a candy piñata, and sometimes the music disc or another Cursed Pumpkin.
- He rides away at dawn.
Everything else
- Witch Hat, and Music Disc: Witching Hour, an original waltz.
- 14 advancements,
/hallowedcommands, and commented configs (config/hallowed/hallowed.jsonandclient.json) with/hallowed reload. - Every texture and the music were made for Hallowed, along with most of its sounds; around 30 sound events, all with subtitles.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
