Changes
0.3.0 Everything the visual layer was missing, plus four bugs that shipped in 0.2.0 without ever working.
Added Blood on your screen when something hits you. One to three splatters at random positions and rotations, scaled by how hard you were hit, fading over about two seconds. Drawn under the crosshair and hotbar so it never covers your HUD.
Dust kicked up as you move through sand, red sand, gravel, snow, powder snow, soul sand or any concrete powder — tinted the colour of whatever is underfoot, and half again as much when sprinting. The tint comes from the block's own map colour, so modded sands work with no per-block list. Sneak + right-click a plank block to whittle it into sticks — 1 with an axe, 2 with a saw, matching No Tree Punching's own grid recipes. Icons for Parasites, Potion Sickness, Antidote and Cleansing. All four shipped in 0.2.0 with no sprite at all, so they rendered as the pink-and-black missing-texture square.
Fixed
Parasites almost never fired. The handler skipped any application where Thirst was already active — but Thirst lasts 30 seconds, so every drink after the first was a refresh and got discarded. Roughly 94% of all rolls were thrown away; 50 drinks in a row produced about three real chances. Every potion carried untreated water's illness risk. Vanilla Healing, Regeneration and Fire Resistance, and all 21 of this mod's brews, had a 75% chance of inflicting Thirst and an 11% chance of Parasites. The guard meant to prevent it could never run: potions stack to one, and the stack is emptied before the check happened. It now reads the potion's NBT, which survives.
Potion Sickness could hand out Parasites. Its pool of harmful effects included Tough As Nails' Thirst, and applying that triggered the parasites roll — routing around the exclusion written to prevent exactly this. It could also draw itself, turning a two-second penalty into a sixty-second one.
The new planks-to-sticks path was dead on arrival. It tested against minecraft:sticks, a tag that does not exist in 1.20.1, and built the crafting grid vertically when the stick recipe is horizontal. Both fixed in the same release that introduced it.
Changed
Parasites chance raised from 10% to 15% — with untreated water's 75% illness roll, that is about 11% per drink.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
