Changes
v3.8.0 — Restricted Access: Surgeon Edition
🪪 Added — Identity & Access
- Added Hospital ID Card system
- Added Hospital ID Card items with three cosmetic variants
- All ID card variants are functionally identical
- Variants exist for visual diversity only and do not affect gameplay
- ID cards are used as access credentials for scanner blocks
- Added ID Card Scanner block
- Right-click interaction only
- Requires the player to be holding a valid Hospital ID Card
- Emits a short redstone pulse when activated (button-like behavior)
- Automatically resets after a short delay
- Provides feedback when an invalid item is scanned
- No GUI, no inventory, no stored state
- Designed for simple access control use cases (doors, redstone systems)
🏷️ Added — Wearables
- Added Patient Wristband
- Wearable in the offhand
- Uses a custom 3D model
- Visible in third-person view
- Does not obstruct first-person view
- Non-placeable
- Intended as a visual indicator of patient identity
- Does not provide gameplay effects
🛠️ Added — Surgical & Medical Tools
- Added Scalpel
- Configured as a high-damage melee tool
- Very slow attack speed
- Intended to represent precision rather than sustained combat
- Added Forceps (visual-only)
- Added Surgical Scissors (visual-only)
- Added Retractors (visual-only)
- Added Surgical Marker (visual-only)
- Added Percussion Hammer (visual-only)
- Added Tourniquet (visual-only)
🧾 Crafting
- Added crafting recipes for all new items and blocks
- ID card variants are crafted using distinct ingredient combinations
- All ID card variants share the same functionality and access permissions
⚙️ Technical Notes
- ID card validity is handled using item tags to allow future expansion
- Scanner logic is intentionally stateless and localized to nearby interactions
- All visual-only items are cosmetic and do not introduce new mechanics
- No new decorative blocks or crafting systems were introduced in this update

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
