Smelt water buckets in a furnace for buckets of salt and turn it into salt
Craft a chemical purifier and put unrefined mercury in
Purify it with salt and craft flasks with glass bottles and use it on the chemical purifier
Put it in a crafting table for mercury droplets and combine with sulfur dust to make 3 cinnabar

Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not.
