Changelog
After nearly a year and a half in development, ImmersiveMC 1.5.0 is finally here! If you want all the changes since ImmersiveMC 1.4.1, there are too many to list, so please read both the changelog here and the changelogs for all the previous 1.5.0 alphas and betas. There's plenty of new Immersives, tons of quality of life improvements, many bugs fixed, new Minecraft versions supported, and a bunch of technical changes throughout 1.5.0's development!
The changes since 1.5.0 Beta 3 are detailed below.
Major Features
- Added the Grindstone Immersive. By default, provides the two usual input slots and one output slot in desktop mode, and uses a slide to disenchant action in VR mode.
- Added the ability to drag and split-drag items in an immersive. Simply drag (hold right-click in desktop or physically drag your hand between item guides in VR) to drag, or drag while holding your break block button to split-drag.
- Significantly expanded item guide customization to allow for color-changing item guides. Comes with several pre-packaged pride flag options, along with the ability to pick your own colors.
- Added compatibility with Apotheosis' salvaging table and modified enchanting table.
- Added support for Minecraft 1.21.4.
Minor Features
- Significantly improved item swapping behavior when placing items into and taking items out of immersives. Items should generally go where you expect them to go in your inventory now.
- Changed the default item guide colors to match the vanilla inventory's colors.
- By default, the beacon now has one pick up the effect and effect modifier and place it into the beacon itself while in VR.
- Made the crafting table detection more generic so modded crafting tables should work.
- Added compatibility with Visual Workbench.
- Used linear interpolation (lerping) to significantly improve the "framerate" of animated parts of ImmersiveMC.
- Added an option (enabled by default) to disable automatically stepping up onto blocks that you are currently immersively interacting with.
- Made the enchanting table animation be in a circle and more smoothly move up and down.
- Made it so small blocks don't block an immersive from rendering.
- Added an option to scale the size of text across ImmersiveMC.
- Re-added the option to swap which hand your bag defaults to.
- Made ImmersiveMC's chiseled bookshelf code more generic, so modded blocks similar to chiseled bookshelves can be interacted with.
- Crouching can now be used similarly to the break block button to grab entire stacks of items.
- Added a command to enable/disable ImmersiveMC on a per-player basis.
- Fixed confusing behavior around enabling the petting anything living optiion in ImmersiveMC's customize screen.
- Moved the door to a new system to significantly improve its consistency and feel.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed immersives not being lit from dynamic lighting mods.
- Fixed crafting recipes that transform items from consuming them instead.
- Fixed enchantment text not showing for the enchanting table immersive in VR.
- Fixed being unable to place items into the bag with Inventory Profiles Next installed if auto-refill is enabled.
- Fixed many issues surrounding immersive interactions that use the break block button causing the block to break or attempt to be mined.
- Fixed not being able to eject immersively-inserted music discs from jukeboxes on some Minecraft versions.
- Fixed many immersives not syncing item changes for newer versions of Forge for Minecraft 1.18.2.
- Fixed the beacon effect rotation rotating in different directions depending on where the player is relative to the beacon.
- Fixed the bag not showing the hover effect for items in the crafting area.
- Fixed Iron Furnaces furnaces not giving experience when taking items.
- Fixed empty books placed in lecterns crashing the game.
- Fixed attempting to turn the page of a lectern just as it finishes a page turn from crashing the game.
- Fixed being able to infinitely flip through pages of books with an even number of pages.
- Fixed the cube outline item guides only showing when hitboxes are enabled.
- Fixed several bugs with the item guide cubes in the item guide customization screen.
- Fixed the beacon logging errors on Minecraft versions 1.21.1 and 1.21.4.
- Fixed several bugs related to config loading/saving.
Technical Changes
- Improved the immersive shield code to be more compatible with other mods.
- Renamed most mixin methods to start with
immersiveMC$
to prevent potential mod conflicts.
