Changes
Changelog - beta-06011401
Date: 2026-07-29 Status: candidate
Added
- Added Expedition as the third formal game mode alongside Adventure and Competitive. Expedition uses separate preparation, staging, and mission states with dedicated nine-slot hotbars.
- Added warehouse identity selection for Zombie, Skeleton, and Creeper cards. Each identity provides a persistent companion and its own configurable active abilities.
- Added the Plains Ruins and Swamp Lost Supplies missions. Missions use locate, clear, interact, defend, and return objectives instead of the card-battle board.
- Added three data-driven Plains Ruins structures with real relic containers, guardian encounters, terrain snapshots, and automatic terrain restoration.
- Added an Expedition campaign loop with coins, a staging shop, an Expedition backpack, repeatable sorties, revive limits, victory requirements, logs, and seal-linked history records.
- Added Expedition partner, trick, and function cards, including Wolf Companion, Restorative Bread, Concussion TNT, and Partner Recall.
- Added three linked Expedition chapters to the in-game encyclopedia covering entry, mission controls, rewards, failure, and campaign completion.
Changed
- Extended protected player-inventory handling across every Expedition state so normal items are quarantined while Expedition owns the hotbar and restored after leaving the mode.
- Expanded Expedition snapshots to preserve remaining cooldowns, card uses, selected actions, companion state, marked targets, defense timing, spawned waves, surviving guardians, and temporary partners.
- Made structure placement reject block entities, occupied clearance, artificial ground, active Expedition structures, and areas reserved by offline Expedition snapshots.
- Changed mission failure so death, leaving the mission dimension, or an invalid reconnect consumes a revive and returns to staging or ends the campaign when the limit is exceeded.
Fixed
- Fixed defense objectives restarting their timer or replaying completed waves after reconnecting or restarting the server.
- Fixed Expedition guardians dropping normal loot, wandering outside their configured encounter range, or failing to engage immediately.
- Fixed Skeleton companions spawning without bows and daytime Spiders waiting for the player to attack first.
- Fixed replenished trick cards remaining unusable, and fixed staging-shop purchases not refreshing the displayed coin count.
- Fixed legacy hotbar snapshots being restored on top of the protected full-inventory stash after mission recovery.
Known Limitations
- Identity companions currently respawn at full health when killed instead of applying a lasting campaign penalty.
- Expedition history is written to sealed-card data, but the card-inspection UI does not display that history yet.
- Collectible card finishes still do not add finish-specific creature glow during live battles.
Validation
- Passed
compileJavaandcompileClientJava. - Passed all 201 JVM tests.
- Passed strict source and formal-output resource validation: 48 manifest paths, 0 warnings.
- Full release build is reserved for the project owner.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
